Well, as you may have noticed, I have been falling in love with this blackwash method. Lots of figures (especially Hasbro's 6" Movie Lines) have been getting great sculpts but then we get these characters basically cast in primary and secondary colors with little if any paint variation. The Lizard was the most diverse but still kinda weak and half-a$$'d.

The Hulk came with all this great sculptural detail in the hands and feet and body but the paint was just kind of a let down. I really do wonder for as simple a process as this seems to be why we don't get figures with this treatment.

The entire figure is painted black limb for limb. I make sure to get the paint into the cracks and crevaces. < sp I don't give the paint much of a chance at all to dry before I wipe it right back off with a paper towel... Sounds simple and it IS. Now we have our Hulk with a more depthy detail to his muscles and grungy digits.

I also am working on an alternate version with the head from the more static figure released to most retailers... just a little variety.

SMASH!!!!

Great work. Do you thin the paint out first

No, no thinning, just paint it on in one complete layer getting complete coverage and then wipe it right back off. It might be more economical to thin it out first but it just seems like it would roll back off.

Wow! The black-wash really brings out all those awesome details!
