I had bought the Avengers Skrull figure and really wanted to do a Skrull custom. But, I had seen so many Super Skrull variations, that I wanted to do something different. So, I did some searching and came across this guy. I liked his look and knew immediately how to make him, so I chose him as my project. A simple repaint for the most part, only issue being keeping the white even, but even that wasn't too problematic. It wasn't until later that I realized that Skymax was a member of the Squadron Supreme. Or else I would have embarked upon making more of the team to go with him. And I had I was working on a Skrull from the 616 universe. Oh well. Skymax is Marvel's variation of the Martian Manhunter, having lost his home to Galactus. He spends his non-heroic times searching space for more Skrulls, hoping to not be the only survivor. Hoping to go back and do another Skrull eventually, one from the main universe, but for now, I'm very happy with how Skymax came out.
