Amikiri(Net-cutter)is a Japanese youkai(monster) created by 18th century Japanese Artist Toriyama Sekien for his book(pub.1776) Gazu Hyakki Yagyou(The Illustrated Night Parade Of A Hundred Demons)which he rendered as an exoskeleton ed snake-like creature with a bird-like head and lobster-like claws.
For This 1/9th scale Ami-kiri action figure I assembled an articulated body from a CTVToys action figure torso and arms along with Flat-land Toys action figure neck, biceps, forearms, and an Emce toys action figure forearm.I hand-sculpted over the entire figure with Crayola Air-dry clay to give him his unique Amikiri features and also hand-sculpted the Amikiri's head from Crayola air-dry clay as well(I coated all the sculpted parts in a coat of E-6000 industrial strength adhesive). I painted the entire figure with acrylics and sealed with Mod-podge adhesive sealant.I made display stand from a card-board box top,air-dry clay, and tinfoil, and I attached some pieces of a plastic net(for his cut nets)to the base with e-6000 industrial strength glue.
