This is, in my opinion, the best Cyclops costume ever. It has a real timeless appeal to it, touching on all the aspects of Cyke's prior outfits while looking very modern. I used a Constrictor body and AXM Cyclops head. For the piping I used wire tubing. It allows for the flexibility in the arms so I could wrap the tubing around the shoulder area as opposed to breaking it at each joint which always looks gnarly. I made the mistake however of using a gold pen for color. While it really looked incredible it was untouchable with out it smearing everywhere. I coated it with nail polish which diminished the luster slightly but it had to be done. So there you have it: The O.G. of the X-Men: Cyclops! (Just in time for the debut of a new costume in Uncanny X-Men... *#$@%!!

UPDATE!*** After sitting on the shelf for a year I decided to spruce this one up. I was never happy with the paintjob. It was too blue and didn't match his comic book look. Also, the gold ink on the piping didn't age well and the tackiness never went away. The gold wound up getting all over the fig. So I washed off the ink as best I could, replaced some of the piping and added an extra strap, again to match his comic book look, and sculpted proper bracers on his arms and legs. Much happier with it now and I feel its much better than the Hasbro version!

This was the first time I tried using something other than sculpt since doing the tubing with sculpt would have been cumbersome. Now that I see how well the wire works I'll never use sculpt for that again.

Thanks my man. I must have put five or six shades of dry brushing on there. My camera really doesn't do the paint work justice.
