Red Hood is probably one of the more popular characters to make customs of these days, and there are so many great Red Hoods on the realm that while I couldn't possibly compete, I got inspired to try and do a new version - especially given how crummy my first try turned out. Nuffsaid used a Mattel Young Justice Batman base body, and I decided to follow suit. ACCustomFigures used a Movie Masters Batman head, and I thought it had a great effect so I tried to emulate it, shaving off the ears/horns and sculpting over the mouth portion. I didn't have any suitable jackets in the fodder bin, but EmeraldArcher's idea to use a jacket from an Avatar Movie Masters Miles Quaritch figure turned out to work okay for my custom too. The holster is from an RE 5 Sheva Alomar, and the strap is from a Batman and Son Ninja Man-Bat. I sculpted the sleeves, the trousers above the boots, and the pads on his boots and hands. The pistol was also from Sheva, with the larger gun from a Toys R Us budget figure. I hope it came together okay in the end!

I love how you took multiple ideas and elaborated them into one,& I like the gloss Red on The Head,Do you think Daredevil can make a good base for Red Hood?
JeddTheJedi - Saturday, February 23, 2013
I'm glad you think the different ideas gelled together. I think an ML Daredevil would make a fine base for Red Hood, you'd have to find a jacket and perhaps sculpt over the arms a little to get a jacket sleeve effect, plus sand down the head - but I think it definitely can be done!

well I was thinkin bout a Starman jacket & arms & a differet head but yeah
JeddTheJedi - Saturday, February 23, 2013
I used a Starman jacket and arms for my first custom of Red Hood too. With the Starman jacket, you'll have to trim it because it's longer than the usual bolero or "biker" jacket Red Hood wears. Good luck and I look forward to seeing your Red Hood custom!

Yes I know, any tips on takin out the arms?
JeddTheJedi - Tuesday, February 26, 2013
For my first Red Hood custom, I removed the arms below the bicep cut, but the peg ended up snapping so I had to glue it on. There's a tutorial in the tutorials section here on the realm about cracking apart figures. I think that's the best way to swap arms, to open up the "shell" of the torso and get to arms inside.
