A search on Figurerealm reveals that nobody's done a Steve Trevor custom yet, despite him being (formerly) Wonder Woman's main squeeze back in the day. So I decided to make one, based on his appearance in the recent Justice League comics, where he's basically become the Nick Fury of sorts of the DCU. And as for why he's been racelifted, I figured since Nick Fury himself got turned into a black guy in Ultimate Marvel and the movie continuity, why not?

The "turtleneck" collar and cuffs, as well as the pant bottoms, were sculpted from epoxy putty and the straps of the combat harness and the belt were superglued on bits of an old audio cable that had seen its best times come and go. Belt buckle was sculpted on too. All sculpting was done with the help of a good friend. The audio cable was also used to simulate flaps on the boots too. Finally, the thigh holster was salvaged from a scarf in the fodder bin.

Skin tone went on surprisingly easily and smoothly. I decided to make him a blonde nonetheless to make him look more like Old Steve. Turtleneck was painted a matte black and stickers were taken from a Stikfas (Singaporean action figure line) set. Straps and belt were painted brown, gloves were painted grey, pants were khaki and boots were given a metallic black finish.

As for accessories, his radio is from a LEGO set, handgun (as seen in thigh holster) was taken from a Playmobil set, and his SMG's from the fodder bin. The assault rifle was taken from the Stikfas box too, and a sling of sorts was made using twisty wire and painted black, letting him sling his rifle to his back (kind of there in the second picture.)

So that's the first Steve Trevor custom on the Realm...and he doesn't even look like Classic Steve. :P Well, thanks for looking and enjoy!
