The challenge was to get those big biceps attached to the base figure and still be able to keep articulation. Luckily those arms, from a 12 inch Hulk, were hollow inside and weren't that heavy. Used a 2099 Shadow Dancer figure for the upper torso, and it happened to have big enough shoulders to sculpt the arms to. Didn't want to use the Hulk head on this one, and considered using Maestro, Hellboy, or Shadow Guardian - but none of them had the characteristics of Despero, so ended up just sculpting the head, face, and third eye from scratch. Once the details on the face were completed, attached the head to a swivel neck, enabling movement. His fin on his head was cut from blister package and sculpted over. The lower torso was borrowed from Hulk again and the legs were extended for proportion. 6 layers of paint were applied to achieve this color tone and eventually got it to not look so hot pink!
