Spidey Showdowns: Sandman Custom Action Figure

Custom #:49652
Name:Spidey Showdowns: Sandman
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Spider-Man - Movie
Creator:N TT
Date Added:May 11, 2013
Base Figure:WWE Batista
Height:10.00 inches
Had this WWE Ring Giants Batista figure laying around for the longest time. The arms had been cut away and used previously on another custom, so it was perdy much just sittin' there doin' nuthin'. Thought it would be useless, having no arms and all, but then inspiration struck. Decided to build one enormous looking Sandman, big enough to finally squash that spider!
With a base pad as the sandpit, the legs were no longer necessary so cut them off just above the knees and used them for the arms. Copious amounts of apoxie went in to secure the arms, and create sand detailing. Made the fist-mace by using one-of-those spherical prize capsules, sculpted the spikes overtop and attached it to the arm. For the other hand, used clamshell plastic to create the shape of his fingers resembling pouring sand, then sculpted over. The head was also reworked to look a bit more like Marko - squared off hair, stronger jaw, sand texture.
Now depending on the type of Spidey figure that's posed with him, this Sandman can appear even more intimidating and massive alongside Marvel Universe scale figs. Heck, even a Black suit Spidey turns lily and decides to high-tail it outta there! The two Spideys used in the shots were a SIC Movie Realization, and a McD Happy meal toy.
Would also like to dedicate this Custom to Realm member SansPedes, who inspires that even without the use of legs, with heart comes might.

Thanks for checking this out Realmers!

Awesomely executed! I love how you used his legs for his arms! The sculpt work is excellent!
I agree with you in that this looks good with any sized Spidey, as the Sandman can grow in size with the amount of sand at his disposal.
SansPedes is indeed one awesome Realmer!

Was this created as a diorama for Spider-Man figures? Either way nice work, it looks cool.
