Bane TDKR Custom Action Figure

Custom #:50610
Name:Bane TDKR
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Batman - Dark Knight Rises
Date Added:June 11, 2013
Base Figure:John Cena and Movie Masters Bane
Height:6.60 inches
I've not been able to find the Toys R Us variant Bane, and decided to make a shirtless Bane myself. This turned out much, much more difficult to make than I thought. I tried cracking open both the John Cena and Bane torsos, and ended up pretty much ruining both figures. Much thanks to my friend christinacxx who was very helpful in advising me on how to salvage the thing. So this is the John Cena upper body on the Bane legs (with modified belt), Bane's right hand, Bane head and with a sculpted gauntlet, nipples and the scar down his back. I repainted the skin tones, belt and the tubes on his mask. Thanks for looking!

This is SICK! I Love the way you made his back scarred up like it was in the movie

Thanks Davey! I wanted to make a physically imposing Bane and am glad I could salvage it with Christina's advice. Appreciate your comment!

nice work, he has a good physical build to him.

Thanks! I think Bane should always have a large build.

Oh & what Batman is that?Havent seen it before

Thanks - that's a MAFEX Batman by Medicom. It's very articulated and in the 6 inch scale, though some of the parts like the arms and hands pop out too easily.

I don't know if the spine is supposed to look scarred or that's just the way it looks in the picture, but that's a good idea since he got jacked up pretty bad in the pit! I like the added bulk and the paint looks good too!

Thanks! His spine is supposed to look scarred and it was indeed because of when he was attacked in the pit (and the treatment afterwards), the official TRU variant of Bane has that detail sculpted in. the back of my regular Movie Masters Bane figure also had a scar on it but was painted a solid green. It's kinda weird, but I think that's because it might be the same back shell Mattel used for the variant shirtless Bane.

It looks great bro! The upper is big but not disproportionate, really makes him look like Bane should look, great work.

Thanks so much, I'm glad you think so!

I was wondering how this would look, as I tried to use a wrestler┬┤s arms to do a sleeveles bane. Never thought of using the torso as well. MMmm.. gotta tell you, he looks biffed, but not cartoony-exagerated. I really like it. ..well assembled, clean sculpt (love the scar) , and you did a nice job on the skin tones. Have to agree with Chester, I think this is your best work so far. Keep it up!

Thanks so much for your really detailed comment! I really appreciate that you like this one because I'm a fan of your work. I actually tried putting the arms in, but they absolutely didn't fit. The John Cena upper body didn't fit, but I built up the central peg with epoxy and managed to get around that. Both body types are not completely compatible. I get what you mean about him looking buff, I was concerned that it would seem disproportionate, but I guess I wanted a Bane who did look kinda big. Thanks once again!

best work in my opinion
