Well... here's a figure that I'm doing as a Christmas gift for my grandmother. It's of my grandfather who passed away several years ago. Needless to say, he was an amazing man whose life could have easily been a movie. He started dirt poor and built his fortune for the sake of his family through hard work and business savvy. The type of American dream that really can't happen very often anymore. Anyway, I started with a Cable head and an unknown body (Professor X maybe? Lex Luthor?). I decided to base the figure off a picture of my grandpa where he's wearing a tuxedo. I did away with the tie and added a shirt and bowtie with apoxie, sanded away his square jaw and scowling mouth and added rounder cheeks and a smile with apoxie (let me tell you... mouths are really hard to do. I'm very unsatisfied with my work on it, but I don't feel I can improve it anymore. Such tiny work!). I cut off the top of his head and added a bald head, then added a receding hairline, all with apoxie. Hand painted the whole thing and here we have my grandfather.
My mom thinks he looks mean in the custom. I did the best I could, though... it's the thought that counts, right?
this is a great gift. very cool idea, man.
