Marvel Universe Gambit Custom Action Figure

Custom #:53573
Name:Marvel Universe Gambit
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Marvel Universe
Date Added:September 12, 2013
Base Figure:Marvel Universe
Height:3.75 inches
Hi guys, this is a collab work with my bud Charles.

Marvel Universe Gambit

I am not a fan of 3.75" figure but I thought it was worth a try.

Saw his XMO Gambit in his bin last week and I was not satisfied with the hair, so I decided to resculpt it. Then Charles thought that it was better to have a better base body for this. He had an MU secret Wars Cyclops which he thought was a good fit for the custom. Chest and hair were sculpted. He painted the coat and the hair while I was painting the whole body. Also, we used DC Universe Hush's coat for this.

I enjoyed working with my buddy...

Hope y'all enjoy too.

Thank you foe viewing.

A great figure, regardless. But, at that scale?? Bravo...
mikoswabe - Sunday, July 27, 2014
Thank you sir.
Well you know, kinda want to try Heroclix next time. Hahaha! I want to scale down what I'm doing just to perfect bigger size like ( ML and Hot Toys ). Well I think I need to finish all the commission before doing something for myself.

Thank you again.

Perfection, dudes!

Thank you Sir. Rogue is the next. Ahaha thank you

Hi guys! Charles here, Mikoswabe's friend.

Transferring the arms of XMO Gambit to the Secret Wars Cyke was a pain in the ass. Boil and pop didn't work, so I resorted to having to dismantle the whole figure. hahaha! But it was worth it The head fit perfectly with the secret wars Cyke body, it just looked a little weird without the sculpted parts at first.

Oh blimey! So you're THE ONE! Why your mate hasn't replied to us? Busy doing a lot of commissions? lol
So it's true what they say: Two heads are better than one! Do you have a direct link where you posted a step-by-step process of doing this awesomeness?

All I can say is "WOW"
mikoswabe - Saturday, September 14, 2013
I say WOW to your work as well, Grace. We should work together sometime.
monkeybluecheese - Friday, September 13, 2013
I don't know how did you guys WORK TOGETHER "at the same time" - frowned and with the tongue stuck out at the side of lips, high-fiving? Glad and surprised that Charles didn't scold at you because you JUST picked up his XMO Gambit without his permission and just started sculping! lol

Anyway mate, I am impressed with your work! One of the best, honestly!

How did you manage to take off and put XMO Gambit arms in MU Cyclops? - boil and pop? hair-dryer? disassembling both figures? How did you take off MU Cyclops arms then?

How did Charles manage to paint Hush's coat? Methods? Does it come sticky?

How did you guys perfectly fit XMO Gambit's head to MU Cyclops ball-jointed neck?

You guys are amazing! I hope you don't mind posting another picture in scale with the
rest of the X-Men! Cheers, mate!

Yea man I second that question about how you changed the arms for the different torsos. A lot of times I've noticed that the hair dryer technique doesn't work well and you wind up loosening the joint because you only manage to stretch the shoulder joint plastic... sometimes they even break off. And the gambit shoulder socket is different from the Cyclop's.
MetalAlchemist - Friday, September 13, 2013
I third the question!
ToyArchitect - Friday, September 13, 2013
Alright cool, I took one for the team with my own Marvel Gambit in regards to the arms. Just by doing the heat & pop via hair dryer the arms do pop right out. Although I have the Marvel Universe Gambit from the Secret Wars 2 Pack with Mr. Sinister.
mikoswabe - Saturday, September 14, 2013
Hi Sir, I'm a bit busy lately... yah know,. Day time job. We just popped out those gambit's arms by just the method of boil and pop. While we need to crack that cykes body just to remove those arms. For the coat, we just painted it with black thendry brush some brown paints. Thats it, sir.

Thank you for dropping by. I'll try Rogue next time.

Man that looks fantastic! great work you guys! Really impressed with the head and the charged up cards, that Sentinel never had a chance! ***....tosses his lame MU Gambit in the trash....***
mikoswabe - Saturday, September 14, 2013
Hi. Thank you. Charged up cards are made from white rubber sheet. And I also thought that I'm able to paint those cards with accurate aces logos, but I failed. Ahaah thank you again.
