Sculpted this little Tsukumogami from Das air-dry terracotta clay.I painted with acrylics & sealed with Mod-podge.
In Japanese folklore virtually any type of object, “that has reached it's 100th birthday can become alive and self-aware(becoming a type of Youkai known as Tsukumogami). This is Yokai-John's idea of what a Burlap sack might look like if it reached it's 100th birthday and became a Tsukumogami Youkai.

Thanks guys! Good ideas(for anatomy) Patraw(thanks again),perhaps next time I will do a four legged or at least two legged Obake-Hyou. The design of this one was actually a happy little accident,I was making some Shaker sculpts, and I decided to remove some of the clay and do them differently.A chunk of the clay I removed from the shaker, came off in a Kasa-Obake looking shape, with the eye area just as it is now,so I thought hey this would make a great little Tsukumogami figure, but I wanted do something different(but still with the traditional look) then a Kasa-Obake,hence the Obake-Hyou was born.

When I first saw the thumbnail image, I was sure that this was a Kasa Obake, so I was surprised that it was a burlap sack instead. The figure looks nice, but I think you could have come up with a different kind of anatomy to differentiate it from the traditional Kasa Obake look (perhaps make it a quadraped or dragging itself on the ground, like a slug, instead).
