Wonderman : Olivetti-Style Custom Action Figure

Custom #:55041
Name:Wonderman : Olivetti-Style
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Marvel Legends
Creator:loosecollector
Date Added:October 26, 2013
Base Figure:Aoa Sabes
Height:6.50 inches
Good day guys :D! Here's another Giusti/Olivetti style figure! This time it's everybody's favorite Ionic superhero, Wonderman! Can't believe how underrated this dude is. A definite heavy-hitter power-wise and lots of character, but he's not getting the bigtime recognition he deserves :(. Hoping to see him in an Avengers movie someday...

This figure uses the usual Olivetti recipe and a "mystery head". I will reveal after the auction but for now, let's play "guess the head" just for kicks :). Clue... it's not DCUC Shazam.

Edit: Figurerealm detectives solved the head case. See thread for much fun :).

Paintjob is a bit tricky on this one. Wristbands and belt are metallic, fleshtone is matte and the rest a bit shinier than the skin.

More pics can be seen in the ebay auction when you click the link provided here.
Hope you like him guys :D. God bless!

It is amazing to see what you can do with a little plastic & paint! A honor to live in these times to behold such creations and treasures from many creators, such as you.
G Brand - Wednesday, November 27, 2013
I second that!
VeronicaMars - Sunday, November 10, 2013
Wonder Man is one of my favorite characters and this might just be the best custom of him I've ever seen
Bamf67 - Monday, November 4, 2013
Wow Loose, I don't know how you look at that Johnny Quick action figure and think "Wonderman"; but you really pulled it off. Great job!!!
loosecollector - Wednesday, October 30, 2013
Man-o-man WOW! I never thought that much head can work for one project. They all DO look a lot alike! Ultraman, Adam, Aquaman, Dark Ryu, Gambit, Lex, Shazam, Genis, Riddler, Supes 52 and especially a Canadian bacon! But JonMichael saw it first, then Epicher, Daredevil & Phinny and then you’ve all figured it out in the end. Custom_Universe summarized it too! JQ head with hair and ears. Reshaped the face as well. Great job custom detectives! I almost got away with it but no . Thank you for taking time to write here. It was a fun activity to share. Also for those who left the nice comments and those who placed bids (Praise God). I appreciate. If I could I would buy you all some drinks. If I can afford, pizza too !
Again thank you. You make the hobby a lot more enjoyable with your fellowship. High-five!

How do you keep the ears from breaking off?
loosecollector - Wednesday, October 30, 2013
Hey DDSK, you saw it earlier too! I edited my post to include your name .
What I do to keep the ears on is put some glue along the sides just to strenghten eveything up. Works all the time!
Custom_Universe - Wednesday, October 30, 2013
Loose,

High-five back-at-ya bro!!
I knew it! haha, you did an excellent job on it.
To date, this is one of my all-time favorite customs!
Toycooker - Thursday, October 31, 2013
Absolutely amazing transformation bro, love original sculpted heads, so much more fun than just sticking an old version on a new body! DDSK you can also either make friends with a caster, or buy some casting mold and resin, and cast your custom sculpted and glued on ear head, then you'll have the same look but no worries about hair or ears or any other hard work going down the drain.
Custom_Universe - Wednesday, October 30, 2013
We got you Loose! We figured it out.
Johnny Quick's head....

epichero - Wednesday, October 30, 2013
hey, hey, hey I said that 3 days ago.
Custom_Universe - Wednesday, October 30, 2013
Ooops! sorry bro! You were right too!
I didn't see that comment until now. It was
hiding between your other comments, and I
totally didn't see it. My bad!
daredevil96's Sidekick Studio - Tuesday, October 29, 2013
It's a modified Johnny Quick head for sure!
phineas curmudgeon - Wednesday, October 30, 2013
Yeah I forgot about that JQ head. It is looking closer to that now methinx.
Custom_Universe - Wednesday, October 30, 2013
daredevil96,

Wow, you may be right, you definitely nailed it.
That has got to be the Johnny Quick head, the face
is exactly the same! but with custom hair and ears.
Good guess man!
Toycooker - Tuesday, October 29, 2013
Nice brother!!! I do believe the head has already been guessed by a couple of our customizing comrades, but wouldn't it be cool if you resculpted this from a female head. lol
Custom_Universe - Tuesday, October 29, 2013
What do you think it is? It's been guessed at, but
no one has guessed what it actually is. It doesn't
match any Gambit figure, doesn't match New52 Supes.......
The best match I could find was Aquaman's head in
my post, or looks like a Black Adam head, but only
a little bit, if it were "heavily" modified and
sculpted using this head:

Toycooker - Tuesday, October 29, 2013
You know what on second guess the smirk is on the wrong side of the face for the afformentioned figures, I'm gonna gues it's a modded Legends genis vell Captain Marvel Variant, I have a cast of it from the cave and the smirk almost looks spot on, hard to tell with the transparent blue on the factory figure..
phineas curmudgeon - Tuesday, October 29, 2013
I'm pretty sure my earlier guess is right, if you can decipher the cryptic sense of it. Either way it is augmented though.
Custom_Universe - Tuesday, October 29, 2013
I got what you said, it just doesn't make
sense, if you get what I mean.
Don't see how it would look like that. Check
the links I provided. Looks like a mix between
Aquaman and Black Adam, but more like Aquaman.
It has all the features of Aquaman's face and head,
but with Black Adam's chin, eye brows, and trimmed
ears, and totally custom hair atop it all.

Just tell us Loose!!! what is it??
RedRebelCustoms - Wednesday, October 30, 2013
Given the clue...it may just be a modified Black Adam head...
giusti - Monday, October 28, 2013
Thanks for the honors Loose and please keep coming with these massive looking dudes. Im gonna go with Gambit head if I guess rite do I win Wonderman LOLLL
Wings - Monday, October 28, 2013

NeCrollector - Monday, October 28, 2013
BAM!!! This Rocks!
Custom_Universe - Monday, October 28, 2013
I'll give the guessing a go..............

It looks like an Aquaman head with toally
modified hair..........hmmm...........
.....still thinking about it in my head, but
it really looks like Aquaman with different hair.

Whiteaker15 - Sunday, October 27, 2013
I love this style of figure. It's beautiful. I'm gonna guess that's a lex luthor head, with sculpted hair, and wrapped up in your famous paintjob. Am I on the money?
giusti - Sunday, October 27, 2013
Dammmm Loose you got me drooling at the moment. I love this style of marvel customs you have been making. Its how I always imagined super heroes to look all buffed out. Beautifully done brother
JonMichael - Saturday, October 26, 2013
Kinda looks like Riddler or Animal Man head...a tiny bit like Johnny Quick, but I don't think him.
The Real Question - Saturday, October 26, 2013
Lex Luthor?.......
Custom_Universe - Saturday, October 26, 2013
I am blown away with this. I love this style.
You did a really good job on this. Well done.
VicVeinz - Saturday, October 26, 2013
Hmmm modified DC Black Adam head
Heroes Assembled Customs - Saturday, October 26, 2013
Believe it or not, with that smile, I think it's a modified Gambit. I could be way off. Either way, that is a bad ass figure!!
ringomendoza - Saturday, October 26, 2013
he looks awesome, and my guess is a modified DCD new 52 superman head.
1andonly5711 - Saturday, October 26, 2013
This is just plain sick. I love the upper body the most.
alceu br - Saturday, October 26, 2013

pcpcustomfigs - Saturday, October 26, 2013

Awesome!
Banner/HULK Inc. - Saturday, October 26, 2013
This is really how Wonder Man should be with that movie star physique. Cool! ...my guess for the head is Black Adam.
optimusleo - Saturday, October 26, 2013
