Hades always gets a bum rap when it comes to portrayals, especially in modern media. In most tellings of myths that he's appeared in, he's usually pretty stand-up in comparison to his brothers, especially Zeus. I think the whole Persephone ordeal was actually the worst thing he's ever done, and that was at least 100 times less messed up than some of the stuff the sky father had done. Hades is usually tough but fair and his general demeanor seems to be more or less "grumpy".

Hades here was made from an Indiana Jones Mola Ram figure. I cut off and sanded down some things, painted some stuff up, and gave his clothes a gray wash to show that the lord of the underworld is well-laundered, although he does live under the dirt so he's not wearing blinding white.

I heartily agree that most modern renditions of Hades (I'm looking at you Sony's God of War and Disney's Hercules) are way off the mark and that several of the other Greek deities were much worse than Hades when it came to their behavior (particularly Zeus). Like you said, kidnapping Persephone was the only really bad thing he ever did, and, in his defense, Zeus did promise her to him. There seems to be a strong, and completely unfounded, bias towards equating him with Christianity's Satan, just because he controls and lives in the Greek Underworld.

Anyhoo, interesting classical rendition of the character. I can't say that I've ever seen a bald Hades figure before (again, other than the lame Disney version when his burning "hair" goes out). While you used Mola Ram as your base, I can't help but think of the wrestler Big Show everytime I look at him, lol.
