I've had Wasp as a WIP for over a year. I finally dumped a more ambitious recipe for a new one that I recently thought of. Once I got the parts I was done in about 2 days.
The great thing about Wasp as a custom is the fact that she has had about a billion different costumes. She is/was a fashion designer, so the ever-changing costume was part of her shtick. Basically, this allows the customizer free reign with her costume, if desired. I knew from the start that I wanted a black base with red and yellow trim - that color scheme has been one of her staples. The goggles were a last-minute addition because my wife thought she looked too much like Maria Hill with wings, so I put on the goggles to disguise that fact.
Recipe: Maria Hill head; Avengers Assemble Black Widow torso, upper arms, and leg stubs; Baroness lower arms with the gloves removed; MU Patriot gloves; Jubilee thighs, knees, and upper calf; Elektra lower calf and feet; MU Nova belt (I had used the belt buckle on Odin); a segment of the LUB Black Widow belt (one circle) as a belt buckle; Star Wars Sun Fac wings; and the goggles (optional) are from G.I. Joe Renegades Ripcord.
The only painting is on the head , the red trim on her belt buckle, and some minor color alteration of the wings.
The wings can swivel, fold down, or be removed if accurate display with other full-sized Avengers is desired.
