Good to be back with another custom!
Here's my take on Robin! A belated Christmas gift for my buddy, Osk, that I ended up completing this month…work's been hectic and free time is so sparse. :(
He's meant to go with my buddy's Justice League New 52 ArtFX statues, hence the metallic paint apps. Also, since the ArtFX statues tend to be taller than DCUC figures, Robin should look to scale next to the ArtFX statues. Of the different Robin outfits to choose from, I decided to go for this look.
+Head: DCUC Aquaman head with sculpted mask.
+Body: Mostly a DCUC Green lantern body with lower legs from a DCUC Aquaman figure with fins sliced off the boots. Hands are from an unknown DCUC figure. Sculpted the 'R' on the chest. Used earplug wires around the neck, arms (for gloves) and calves (for boots).
+Belt: Made from a black cable tie. Sculpted the buckle. The pellet dispensers on his belt are bullets from a fodder ammo belt.
+Shoulder pads and wrist pads: Sculpted the pads and glued bullets from a fodder ammo belt.
+Cape: Made from both a black vinyl fabric and yellow fabric with inserted wires to allow for dynamic poses. Once the cape was secured unto Robin, I had to sculpt the area around the neck and back to give the illusion that the cape wraps around his neck.
+Staff: Made from a metal round rod bought at Home Depot. Using a dremel, I cut off a piece of the rod to make the staff.
In one of the pics, he's faced off against the INCREDIBLE Fast Freddie's TMNT Leonardo which I am so fortunate to own. Go check out Fast Freddie's masterpieces! His works-of-art are truly inspirational! ^_^
Thanks for checking him out, Realmers!
