Name:Daredevil (YELLOW First Appearance)
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Marvel Legends
Creator:Banner/HULK Inc.
Date Added:February 1, 2014
Base Figure:WWE Ryback
Height:6.50 inches
Here comes…. Daredevil. The Man Without Fear! He was introduced to the world in his first comic book in 1964 during the Silver Age of comics.

A superhero crime-fighter with a handicap was an extraordinary concept at the time. Although blind, Daredevil is fully aware of his surroundings and very athletic and acrobatic. The design for his first yellow costume resembled the outfit of a gymnast.

In Daredevil #1, he fought thugs who worked for a crime boss known as The Fixer. He then confronted a familiar Spider-Man villain, Electro in issue #2. After issue #6, he stopped using the yellow suit, which was replaced by a red one that he wore for many years.

I based this custom figure on the Daredevil statue by Bowen and the art from Marvel comics of the first costume of Matt Murdock: Daredevil.

Recipe:
Body: WWE Ryback
Head: WWE John Cena
Billy club and holder: Toy Biz Daredevil
Straps and Horns: cut pieces of plastic
“D” Symbol: sculpted
Paint: red, brown, and yellow

I included two Mattel WWE thugs and a Toybiz Electro in the pictures.

Thanks to all who voted for this Silver Age Daredevil.

Although he is slightly too muscular, the choice of parts very good! Shading was a big thing for silver age Marvel and you did it well.

Your action pictures just bring your DD to life..you emulated his exact fighting style

Thanks Vic, since he was up against those WWE dudes, I thought of having him do a drop kick and flying clothesline. Against Electro I just tried copy the comic reference art.

loving those sweet action pics, awesome job!
Banner/HULK Inc. - Sunday, February 9, 2014
Thank you Bacchus, it's action inspired by the acrobatic, gymnastic style of the character, with some pro wrestling moves.

Great rendition of the Man Without Fear! Top notch quality all around. Maybe it's just the lighting in your photos (you stated that you only used red, yellow, and brown paint), but the wash on the yellow parts of his costume seems blueish-green to me, which is kind of an odd hue choice, given his overall color scheme. Maybe I'm just color blind, I dunno.
Banner/HULK Inc. - Sunday, February 9, 2014
Thanks Patraw! I noticed differences in color when I view it on a laptop, tablet or cellular screen too. Maybe it's the lighting and my simple camera doesn't pick up some lighting too well, pics seem bluish, but the shading is just a brown with yellow.
