Once DCC released the Arkham Origins Firefly figure I decided I had to do something new with my custom Firefly.

Firebug was a late 1970s villain with a very similar motif to the older Firefly. They were both arsonists except that while Firefly was a genuine pyromaniac, Firebug wanted to destroy badly maintained or constructed buildings that had been instrumental in the deaths of several of his family members. In the comics he just wears a flame-themed costume but i decided to update it a bit.

- War Machine (upper body)
- Marvel Selects Black costume Spider-Man (legs and head)
- DCD MR Freeze (backpack/tank)

- removed the War Machine legs and replaced them with the Spider-Man legs so that the figure would not look 100% robotic
- I repainted the armor to reflect the original character's design
- repainted and hot-glued the head on
- I removed the backpack from Mr Freeze, repainted, attached it to the back of the figure, and hot-glued the gauntlet hoses onto it

It took forever to paint the figure--especially the different shades of yellow. But overall I like how it came out

Good stuff here, I like the flame paint apps! I remember a comic book story which had Firebug going out with this girl, Firefly was the main villain in the story but Firebug was involved as well and he was depicted as the second-stringer. Firefly's definitely cooler haha, but good on you for showing Firebug the custom love.

Did they stop using him cos he looks a bit like Iron Man? Either way it's a fun looking figure. Is yellow the hardest colour to paint? I know I've had trouble with it in the past but wondered if that was the case.

nah, he was never that popular a character. Heck in the original story he was supposedly killed off.Others have taken on the name and costume. For some reason, Firefly became the more arsonist of choice for Batman writers

and yes, yellow is the absolute worst color to use!
