I did this piece for a friend who wanted a custom done of her boyfriend's character. I've included reference pictures of the in game hero.

I took a ML Cyclops and a ML Punisher... decapitated them both at the neck, glued Frank's head and neck to Cyclops' body (I had to cut off Cyke's neck and dremmel it down) and painstakingly dremmeled off the thick boot flaps on Cyclops' legs. I sculpted the eyepatch, the mustache, the chest armor, the designs on the shoulders and legs, the boots, the cape clasp and the gloves with apoxie sculpt. The cape is from a ML Scarlet Witch. Hand painted it all and here we go. Hope you enjoy it.

The brush on crazy glue usually does not seep into the seams. if it gets stuck, just move the articulated joint in the correct direction and it should "unglue" itself.

I may just try that, but I'm leery as heck of separating parts from figures (removing limbs, etc)... I'm not positive I could get them back on.

It all depends on the part you are doing. On the ball joint, you can just do it while it's connected cause it doesn't drip as bad as the regular super glue.But when you use it, make sure you have just enough glue on the brush to cover the surface. Now with an elbow of knee joint, you can separate the parts with hot water or a dryer, then use the glue as a paint sealer.

I know what you mean pun, but I did find sort-of-a solution. First I paint my base coat, then I use krazy glue (the one that comes with a brush that looks like a nail polish bottle) to seal the paint on rubbing joints, then I paint another layer of paint on top of the dry super glue. For this to be effective, you have to paint with thin coats. Before you try it I suggest you read jin's post on his website about super glue and it's long term affects. I'm gonna have to invest in a quality mask before I continue with harmful chemicals. I hope this helps.

Z, unfortunately, I'm still having trouble painting a figure in such a way that it's fully posable. As it stands the arms and head can move, as can the legs, but at the knees, elbows and feet, I'm afraid I'll get paint rub if I try and pose him.

hey pun, I just had to revisit this custom again to find one thing that bothers me. You did such an excellent job customizing this fig, I think that you should take your time in putting him in some neat poses. The pictures just doesn't do this awesome figure the justice it deserves, don't be offended as it is just constructive criticism.

I think I got the problem fixed.
Heh well, I've been avoiding customizing lately... just haven't been in the mood the past couple months. Now I'm getting back the joy of the hobby that I had before, so look for more customs from me fairly soon.

Hell yes bro! That is awesome. I waited too long to see a custom from you but the wait was hella worth it. The paint apps are sweet and very detailed. I love the free hand flames/chest symbol, the drybrushing, and tiny stars on the cape. Your sculpting skills have got really crazy also. The armor, boots, and gloves are very detailed and precise.
