Gather Ye 'round, my fellow Midgardians, as I recount a little known tale of Asgard's favorite son and his foray into the world of music here on our humble realm:

'Twas years ago, in days of old, when magic filled the air (courtesy of Led Zeppelin), it was in the darkest depths of, no no, sorry, I'm getting my legends crossed. It was during the tumultuous 70's when the rock group KISS was starting to make a name for themselves. Our favorite Thunder God happened to catch one of their shows in the legendary land of New Amsterdam, currently known as New York City, when a fight broke out amongst the band members backstage and the Guitarist/singer Paul Stanley, thence also known by the name of Starchild, stormed out proclaiming "Nevermore! I shall not be part of this band of motley fools ever again!" (or something to that extent). Thor, being quite the music fan, asked to visit with the band. He was granted audience, being no less of a celebrity himself, when Lo, what does he see but just three of the band members sitting around moping backstage.

"My friends" he asks, "What burdens you so"? The remaining band members explain to our heroic Asgardian, and he immediately suggests they allow him to audition for the open spot. The Thunder God then put on a display of guitar wizardry n'er before seen by mere mortals. Right away, the band exclaimed "you're in, buddy"!

Our newly formed version of KISS went on to tour the world. Music publications by the dozens proclaimed our favorite Asgardian Guitarist of the Year. The group sold out arenas and sold millions in merchandise.

But sadly it was not meant to last, for Thor Odinson, ever the hero, realized his true calling was as the protector of Midgard. Citing musical differences----Thor was more into Classsical Music---- he took his leave from the band, just as Paul Stanley came to his senses and asked the band to allow him back into the fold. Low record sales of your solo effort will do that to a guy. Thor, being ever so gracious and the consummate diplomat, convinced the boys to take Paul back so the band could forge their musical legacy, as it was their destiny. And the rest is history.

The recipe: MS Thor with the cape removed and hands swapped from a BAF Terrax Thor, and the head from a WWE Triple H.

This little tale was inspired by my buddies En-Ryu-Oh, and BANNER/HULK Inc, who reminded me what a good story can be like and that you have to keep playing so as to keep from getting old.

Being a metalheaded individual, (I like Slayer for housework), this one hit home. All the way home! Thor fits in so well, I would call it a no-brainer, but it never occurred to me until I saw your figure! Great job!

Metal rules, no doubt. For me it was easy because KISS obviously had "God of Thunder" in their music catalog and, well, I already had these KISS figures from way back in the day. Had to use them somehow.

Cool concept... Like val hallen from the justice friends on dexter's lab. I would prefer a Flying V, bc rich warlock or explorer instead of a les Paul. But overall cool execution. The game looks like he's wailing. Instead of hammer, he wields his mighty axe!!!

Thank you Rudo. Never saw that Dexter clip, but I will have to look it up. My son was a huge Dexter fan, maybe he can school me.

I'm digging that people are getting a kick out of this. It was actually sitting on my workbench for a few weeks, until I said, what the heck. Thank you for taking a look and your comments.

Just wanted to add that it's so cool you used Triple H, because in reality he is a friend of Lemmy Kilmister who sang his entrance theme "The Game". All hail Thor.... the God of Metal! And you ROCK panchopantera!

I didn't know that, but Triple H and Rock And Roll seem to fit well together. Thank you, my brother, glad to hear enjoyed my little tale of the Asgardian God Of Metal.

Panchopantera my friend, you've written a truly entertaining, humorous story! This one got me hooked from the very first line. I wanted to read more of the Asgardian's days as the God of Rock N Thunder! Well done custom! Great pictures! Excellent staging of all the other figures! I'm honored to know that I helped inspire this story and presentation. I can just picture it now, how awesome Triple H would be playing Thor on stage with Gene Simmons " I....wanna Rock N Roll all night!!! And party very day!!!!"

And you know what song they would open with every night, right?

Rock On Carnal, I've always been a huge KISS fan since I graduated high school a few years back. Kiss and the movie Detroit Rock City is one of the reasons I picked up a guitar in the first place. Awesome story bro, and I love the way Thor looks and fits in so well with the group. P.s. Maybe Loki will be joining Iron Maiden too.
panchopantera - Tuesday, July 1, 2014
DUDE! I love Detroit Rock City. That movie was hilarious, even my kids loved it. I still try my hand at playing a little guitarra now and then, but sadly I come no where near being any good. Glad you enjoyed my little unknown "Tale Of Midgard".
