I bought this Spider-Man 3 Venom a few years back on clearance…and his hand promptly broke off. Because of that, and his unique movie look, he had been sitting around for a long time with no plans. After I saw the new rendition of Eddie Brock as Toxin however, I knew I could finally put him to use.
Pretty basic figure, most if it is a solid repaint. Whole body was repainted red and the head was detailed. As you can see, his whole body is textured with the webbed look, so I only did the black areas where I felt the Spider symbol best looked, with a little improvising due to its design.
The biggest design change from the source material I did was on the eyes. The comic version of Eddie as Toxin has white eyes in the black areas. However, I don’t really care for that look as much and on this figure, they looked weird and out of place, so I kept it the traditional looking style as my own little touch.
To replace the broken hand, I used two Bionicle Lego weapons, sculpted over them in the right areas to look like tendrils and then painted them. This way, he has two re-moveable hand weapons that can be changed out.
Finally, everything got a good coating of sealant.
