I once again have the honor of making another custom for Toyfare magazine, this time around in the WISH LIST section, I made them a Master Blaster. He is the villian from the Mad Max movie, beyond the thunderdome. So Go to your local comic store and snag issue 129 to see it.

Hey Kyle, I sent you an email.

Dude I could totally do that. Just look at pics of your custom of yourself, draw THAT figure into my style, and do something funny with it.
I'll even do it in color. It would be cool to see my art in other places than just my Webcomic.
If you have any ideas for what the joke could be, let me know.

like a mini strip for my home page.... somthing with me, and somthing funny about customs. like the one on your home page but shorter... not sent to me for real, but just sent via email. Then I would give you credit of course and pimp your site on mine.
just a thought

Well what do you mean by draw you a cartoon? Like do a sketch of you and send it to you?
Kyle Robinson - Saturday, April 12, 2008
Thanks hicks, I might take on Mel on my own, alt of people say they would dig that

My mom bought me a toyfare today.
I saw this custom was in it.
Great job!!!!.... but did any of us expect any less?
I still think they should have done mad max 2 the road warrior.
I would have killed for a fully articulated mad max. That leader guy was pretty cool too ( the bad one with the mask)

you draw me a cartoon, and I would love to link your name on my website permanantly ^_^. your toons look great !!!

Seriously? It pays that well? darn that's cool.
Don't think I could do that though.
I don't claim to be a professional customizer. The ones I do customize, I only do because there are certain Marvel movie characters I need to complete a set.
It would be cool to get a pic of a custom in Toyfare though. Then maybe I could tell them to put a shoutout for my website on there. I don't have a customs website, I'm a webcartoonist and that's my webcomic in the link.
So any pimpage of that would be great.

yes, it is my full time job. Not toyfare specifically, but making customs in general is.
Unknown User - Friday, April 11, 2008
Is it just a hobby though?
Or is it your full-time job?
Kyle Robinson - Friday, April 11, 2008
yes they do, and yes it is... pretty fun stuff... I just finnished up 3 more for them since master blaster (that makes 7), and they are just as odd (I don't know where they come up with these ideas for so look for them soon
Unknown User - Friday, April 11, 2008
So they pay you?
That sounds like a sweet gig my friend.
Kyle Robinson - Friday, April 11, 2008
they ask for it, and I make it under contract... I get deadlines and even have to fill out a W-4. I wish I could keep em but they go straight to their office for display
but there is the homemade heroes section in the front of the mag, and anyone can email them pictures for it, Those ones, customizers get to keep of course.
