![[Battle-Damaged Metropolis] My latest diorama.
The base is a Cork notice board the rest is made completely from scratch using wood, card, cork and extruded polystyrene.
I decided to put the buildings at an angle to the board. This made it more interesting to put on the crossing paint and road markings. The car was a card Gotham City police car that I had been working on and off for some time but lost interest. I coloured it green to pay homage to Action Comics #1. I resisted adding pre-made pieces but finally put a fire hydrant behind the car. the cork base made for very realistic tarmac when painted.
Clearly it doesn't have to just be a Metropolis street. It could be used for any epic battles you fancy.
I'm in the process of working out a way to sell these. I'm thinking the best bet is at conventions. So if you want one and follow the UK convention events keep an eye out for me in the upcoming months.](userimages/customs/51000/50808-1.jpg) Battle-Damaged Metropolis Movie Mastersby DaxceonMy latest diorama.

I started making this after I saw Man of Steel on Friday. It was not a perfect film but I think it's a solid start to a new franchise and I really liked the cast. Chief among them is Amy Adams as Lois Lane who thanks to actually doing some reporting and investigation made Lois into a decent character. Since Movie Masters haven't made one yet I thought I'd have a go at making a Lois based on the pre-release photos. I think she wears this costume once in the actually film but I think it'll be how we see her most going forward, should there be a sequel.
The parts:
The Torso, legs hair and arms are from an Amy Pond figure. The feet are from a Gail Sin City figure, The head is from an Arkham City Talia, which had the closes look to Adams I could find. The neck join in from an April O'neal figure, the rolled-up sleeves from a Norman Osborne, the lower arms from a buffy figure. A real mix like I said.

I had to undo my own amateur mistakes, removing glued in hand - having to use paint thinner to bring the shoes back from marker pen oblivion, etc. Anyway If they don't make a Lucius Movie Master next year it will make the MM line seem a tad white washed. Saddest thing about the Movie Masters line is the indecent lack of bat gadgets and guns. ![[The Joker | the Dark Knight | Batman] In my ongoing quest for the best 1:12 scale Joker I have attempted another version of the Movie Masters. The official sculpts never really satisfied me when it came likenesses, either too basic like the original release or too exaggerated like the Jail Cell Joker. I saw the Honor Guard Joker and there was a lot more of a look to Heath Ledger in it, probably because it would have to look like him without the aid of makeup. So I bought up a few and started to see how I could use the sculpt with all the other Joker figures. I found the best way was to literally take the face off and put on onto the heads of the previous releases as the ball joint and hat on the Honor guard Joker make a simple swap and hair sculpt tricky. In the end I used the Original Joker head with the new face and sculpted new hair. Filled in any rough areas or gaps. ![[Batpod Batman | the Dark Knight | the Dark Knight ] I made this ages ago but never posted it. I made some changes recently so I thought I would put it up. I wanted a Batpod that was in scale with the 2005 Batmobile toys they made for Batman Begins, even though you can't fit the Movie Masters into the cockpit these Batmobiles are actual in scale with the Movie Master line - more so than the 5 inch line they produced them with. For reference have a look at set pictures with people and other vehicles next to the Tumbler on set. It is suprisingly not as large as it seems.
Anyway back on topic. The actual released Batpod wasn't in scale with the 2005 Tumblers and it was a bit on the large size not to mention rare and expensive so I decided to take a spare 2005 Tumbler I had and use its wheels and the body of the spring action "Stealth Launch Batmobile" Batpod they released with The Dark Knight and make a Batpod in scale with both the Movie Masters figures and the 2005 Tumblers. Rescuplted the torso and made a new head based on the high-tech uniforms worn by the League of Shadows Members during the third act of Batman Begins. * Not the more traditional ninja appearance from the first act. A custom scabbard and sword. A dry brush paint job to differenciate it from the Begins Batman figure. Since the inital custom, I have built a second figure to expand the ranks, the differences are subtle, I didn't have as many found parts like the goggles and shoulder pads so I improvised. The original shoulder pads are from the 4 inch Batman Begins Henri Ducard figure.
One thing I wasn't happy with was how the legs looked. This is obviously the cage like Batsuit case from The Dark Knight Bat-Bunker, I have taken some liberties, though - for example I found the lower shevling that is on the real version made my piece a bit too busy and while I made them I didn't include them in the final piece. The front opens and closes and the empty suit on display has the silver shoulder grips that holds it in the case from the film I also extented the wrists on the display suit as I found that with the hands the arms looked too short. ![[The Joker Version 2.0 - Batman - the Dark Knight] This is a revision of a previous figure. I had always planned to make the head on my Joker look more like the film, at first I just swapped heads with the second figure Mattel released but I was never quite happy with it. I began by sculpting some more hair onto the Jail Cell Joker head to give it more volume and make it look more like how his hair is in the film. then I painted the face a more chalk-white colour and the lips a brighter red. The overall effect was a marked improvement and I'm very happy with the result, This was my first attempt at sculpting loose hanging hair and I felt it worked quite well. I finished the painting with a more vibrant green on the hair. I enjoy how the original colour of the head shows through the dry brushing, given it some significant depth.

![[Batman - the Dark Knight] Another custom I didn't feel warranted a page until now. I aways liked TDK Batman Movie Masters figure, but something about it alway bugged me, after about a year I realised it was its head, it was oversized and a bit cartoonish compared to the rest. Luckily Mattel released the Batman Begins Batman figure with a brand new head sculpt which was slightly smaller and a with a more realistic paint application. So I took one of my spare Begins figures and removed both the ball joint and head (if you use TDK Batman ball joint it looks like he has no neck) and just swapped heads. With the smaller head everyhing else fell into place. Like my Begins figure I also didn't like the cape so I used the same template I used for that custom and attached it to this figure.

As soon as I got the Begins Batman I cut it at the waist joint and placed in some material to raise his height upto the same as The Dark Knight figure. This made him lose waist movement but on the upside he doesn't look hilariously short when he takes on the Scarecrow. The reason I haven't posted this sooner is because I didn't think it warranted a custom but recently I came over to the side that think that plastic capes look a tad lame, so I drew up a pattern accurate to the wingspan of the cape used in the films and after a bit of sewing machine action attached it to my Begins Batman and haven't looked back.
