They can be randomly encountered in Squaresoft's 1994 Final Fantasy VI Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) roleplaying video game [said title was also later ported to the Sony Playstation (1999) and Nintendo Gameboy Advance (2006/2007)]. There are three known species of these floral fauna: Leafer/Leaf Bunny, Rhobite/Chippirabbit, and Nohrabbit/Desert Hare. These hardy animal/plant hybrids can obtain the energy they need to survive through both photosynthesis and foraging (and, yes, the rabbit portion of the creature is not above nibbling on its own leaves if nothing else is available), allowing them to survive in a broad range of environments and conditions where less versatile organisms would suffer or starve. Leafers and Rhobites prefer to dwell in grasslands and forests, while the Nohrabbit, having the misfortune of living in Kefka's post-apocalyptic World of Ruin, has adapted to life in the hars](userimages/customs/22500/22258-1.jpg) Leafer/Leaf Bunny Final Fantasyby PatrawUnusual hares that are born-from, and permanently attached to, heads of lettuce. Amoebae and Squids are randomly encountered monsters in Squaresoft's 1993 SaGa III: Jikku No Hasha Nintendo Gameboy roleplaying video game (more commonly known as Final Fantasy Legend III in North America, although that title was a rather dishonest marketing ploy as the SaGa franchise is not part of the Final Fantasy series). Both critters share the exact same game sprite--because the original Gameboy only had relatively-primitive, gray-scale graphics, Squid and Amoeba aren't differentiated by color as they likely would have been on a more advanced console.
Squids have numerous offensive options including the ability to create magical fires and tornadoes (both of which somehow work underwater), dissolve flesh with acidic excretions, blind foes with ink, or physically attack with a tentacle, tusk, or mighty "Wind-Up" blow. Magicians that specialize in the casting of destructive black magic. Black Mages harness the elements of fire, ice, and lightning to combat their enemies, and, as the Black Mage grows in experience with battle, he or she will begin to learn to bend even more potent forces to their will, such as Death itself.
A Black Mage's dedication to the dark magic arts makes him or her a formidable foe. However, that dependency on the mystical typically leads magicians to neglect any type of physical conditioning or training, making them poor hand-to-hand combatants. A mage who exhausts all of his or her magic reserves (magic points) loses much of their usefulness in battle and can even become a liability to comrades.

![[World of Ruin Mini Monster Medley] The three Goddesses fought, the world trembled, and all was nearly destroyed, but, at last, their fury waned and they saw the folly of their conflict. And thus, The War of The Magi ended. Sealing themselves in stone, and commanding the magical warriors they had created from human hosts, Espers, to likewise hide themselves, the trio allowed the planet to heal and life to begin anew without their interference.
A thousand years passed.
With magic mostly gone from the world, technology has arisen to take its place. But, there are some who remember the old ways, those that recall the awe-inspiring might magic can unleash--men who covet limitless power. Emperor Gestahl, aided by his merry jester, Kefka, wage a campaign to fuse magic and science, unseal the land of the Espers, and awaken the energies of the three Goddesses. After much destruction, betrayal, and sorrow, Gestahl is on the verge of success, but the old man has failed to see the insanity growing in his clown's eyes over](userimages/customs/18000/17970-1.jpg) World of Ruin Mini Monster Medley Final Fantasyby PatrawThe three Goddesses fought, the world trembled, and all was nearly destroyed, but, at last, their fury waned and they saw the folly of their conflict....3 comments | ![[Cloud Stryfe (Marvel Legends 6" Scale)] I created this figure as a gift for my brother, Chris.
