![[Noob Saibot] Here's the rundown of all the parts i used;the upper base is a "ninja gaiden" torso, forearms, hands, calves and feet are also from the same figure.Pants from a "onimusha" figure, bicepts from a ML figure(unknown). The head is a jazawares scorpion mold with more sculpting clay added.I used flat toothpics on the arms and legs, wrapped with regular car pin striping for straps,(works great cause it's tacky on one side, stretches and is paintable)and last, the thin metal wire technique that i always ends up using when i want every detail, outline and border to pop.Sorry about the one crappy pic,had to get it off the internet, cause i accidentally dumped some of my pictures. Thanks for looking,Mike.](userimages/customs/38500/38179-1.jpg) Noob Saibot Mortal Kombatby mjb3777Here's the rundown of all the parts i used;the upper base is a "ninja gaiden" torso, forearms, hands, calves and feet are also from the same fi...9 comments | ![[Sheeva] The base figure was an infinite concepts sonya and mileena(for the extra arms). The original base figure was completely reshaped around the waist and the back of the neck,(so she would stand up strait, you know how those figures look like there doing the limbo).I used the same sonya head, and just gave her an extreme makeover, adding some horns and ponyhawk hairdo. The thin metal wire technique was used on the outlines of almost every detail of the costume, including the ponytail ring.the feet were from an old pre-ML hulk figure line, that had two heads and a cyborg arm.Throughout the history of the MK games, they always gave sheeva a hot body, sorry about the face, hahaha. Thanks for looking,Mike.](userimages/customs/38500/38151-1.jpg) Sheeva Mortal Kombatby mjb3777The base figure was an infinite concepts sonya and mileena(for the extra arms). The original base figure was completely reshaped around the waist and t...20 comments |
![[Kintaro] The base figure used was an infinite concepts sub-zero and scorpion,so i could have four matching arms. The head was made from two different heads,ML beast(which had a closed mouth),and a sam winston cat figure lower jaw(also got the paws from the same figure).I basically gave beast a haircut, added the lower jaw, epoxy, sand and paint. The shoulder and knee armor are from a old spawn figure. The feet are from a motu green tiger, sorry forgot his name.Regular ribbon and metal wire were also use on the straps and belt.I shortend the ankles to make the character a little shorter, because they all come 8",and all the other MK9 customs i made were 6.5",(did the same thing on shao kahn). The paint job was half spray can and brush techniques. Thanks for looking,Mike.](userimages/customs/38500/38127-1.jpg) Kintaro Mortal Kombatby mjb3777The base figure used was an infinite concepts sub-zero and scorpion,so i could have four matching arms. The head was made from two different heads,ML b...33 comments | ![[Jade] The base figure is a superwoman elsewolrds upper half, and the legs and arms of an unknown street fighter chick that i keep using, because the curves on her backside seem to fit well with the breasts i carved out on the topside(my wife called me a perv, haha).
Anyway, same thin metal wire technique used on the outline of her outfit, and also plain ribbon(painted). The head is from a tomb raider figure and the mask was done with sculpting clay. ![[Shao Kahn] The base figure i used was a sub-zero 8" figure because it had the right shape,i just changed the head, feet and hands as far as parts go.The head came from a ML thor figure, the rest of the head was sculpted and thin arts and craft foam were added. The shoulder armor, shin guards and forearm armor were also made from the same kind of thin foam, adding to it the thin metal wire technique as lines and outlines. The belt was made from real fake leather, with an added scull, puff paint spikes and thin metal wire loops. All the straps are from regular ribbon(painted first),and all the spikes were taken from other toys such as fangs and claws.the rest you can probably get from most lotr figures(meaning the skirt thing and the thigh armor). The paint techniques i use are usually the base color, then either a dry brush for highlights,or a wet wash for darker shades.Hope i covered it all, thanks Mike.](userimages/customs/38500/38107-1.jpg) Shao Kahn Mortal Kombatby mjb3777The base figure i used was a sub-zero 8" figure because it had the right shape,i just changed the head, feet and hands as far as parts go.The head...30 comments | ![[Cyber Sub-Zero] Here is the third MK9 cyborg i did a couple of months ago,and the recipe was basically done the same as sektor and cyrax, only this time more challenging because this character had round edges, rather than strait,(the upper thighs were a nightmare). Also, did alot of digging in my loose parts containers to find those pieces that i just can't make from scratch.Hope you like,thanks,Mike.](userimages/customs/38500/38084-1.jpg) Cyber Sub-Zero Mortal Kombatby mjb3777Here is the third MK9 cyborg i did a couple of months ago,and the recipe was basically done the same as sektor and cyrax, only this time more challengi...15 comments |
![[Sektor] This custom came a little easier after doing cyrax, because i knew what to expect from the build.I used an ironman house of "m" torso and legs only. The arms were taken from a terminator(female robot)for the shape and articulation. The lower part of the legs were taken from a spawn figure, which was re-shaped and pistons were added at the back ankles(just like the game). The head was made with sculpting clay from scratch, and clear package plastic was layered onto the face(paint before attaching:).The same technique of layered, folded and shaped plastic is what you see on the rest of the armor, basically from the knees up.Thanks for looking,Mike.](userimages/customs/38500/38083-1.jpg) Sektor Mortal Kombatby mjb3777This custom came a little easier after doing cyrax, because i knew what to expect from the build.I used an ironman house of "m" torso and leg...12 comments | ![[Cyrax] This was the first of three MK9 cyborgs that i made, and let me tell you, the cyborgs are the hardest of all the MK9 characters that i've ever done. The base figure was constructed of a mass effect 2 upper body, and robocops legs. I hollowed the top part of the legs to fit a more flexible pivot point at the thigh. The head was made with sculpting clay from scratch, and the rest of the armor was a lot of gundam model parts(re-shaped at times), and clear thin plastic(that you find from an action figure package). No ironman figures were harmed in the production of this custom figure:)Look out for sektor and cyber sub-zero next.

![[Mileena] I started with a batgirl body and used the legs and arms of this street fighter figure that has a red costume, sorry i can't remember her name. Anyway, my whole approach to any tight fitting outfit(on a hot female character like this),is to use the same technique as kitana, and that's the thin metal wire border with multiple clear coats. Sometimes you can use regular thread and ribbon. I tried a different technique on the mask, instead of sculpting clay, i used the fabric that you use to clean glasses(because of the high thread count). The top part of her boots are also fabric,(which you can find at any fabric store), bordered with black pin striping. A couple of other things i probably left out, but you guys are all customizers, you'll get it.
