![[Soundwave] I hated the wings on Cybertron Soundwave... the original figure was way too top heavy and I could never transform him right. He was almost bound for the a website sell pile when I decided to have a go at kitbashing him. Basically I snipped off the wings, glued on the arms (still have articulation), and filed down some of the other "plane" parts. Then I thought the original legs looked too spindly for Soundwave, so I snipped those off too and added Energon Swoop's (another figure bound for the sell pile) legs. Did a little repaint to match some artwork I found online, and I have my classics Soundwave. For his alt mode, I decided he would be a USB reader, where the cyber keys would act like little USB keys instead. That seemed more up-to-date with today's tech. ![[Buzz Eye] My 5 year old son did this! (with a LITTLE drill help from 'ol dad)... the idea was all his, though. He wanted to make a good guy out of the Beetle, so he searched in my parts box and came up this guy using his own Iron Man figure. The wings are from a dollar toy bug transformer, and the helmet is from a "The Batman" Firefly figure (w/ a little sculpey inside to help hold it in place). Used a forstner bit to help drill perfect size holes in the back. I might have to copy this design and repaint, because the boy likes the non-paint version (I guess in case he wants to play w/ him as Iron Man again).
The story behind Buzz Eye is that Beetle's son was ashamed of the criminal deeds (before Thunderbolts) of his dad, and so he stole and upgraded Beetles armor w/ the help of Tony Stark. Now he fights crime as the super-fast Buzz Eye!](userimages/customs/11500/11292-1.jpg) Buzz Eye Marvel Legendsby vidmouseMy 5 year old son did this! ![[Samurai Armor Iron Man] My own take on Samurai Armor from the 90's cartoon Iron Man. I didn't like that the movie figures didn't have fists so I replaced them with fists from an extra Transformers Armada Jetfire (already had been chopped for parts). This allows him to hold all sorts of weapons, but right now I've added swords from a dollar store ninja, painted. The shoulder pads and backpack are actually leg shields, split into two pieces from a She-Dragon figure from the 5" Savage Dragon line (got her on sale at a 'con for fodder). His left arm gauntlet sai holder is the boot cuff from a Batman TAS Nightwing figure, I think (part of a leftover a website lot).
The story behind this figure: I wondered what might happen if Tony was somehow transported back in time to feudal Japan via Dr. Doom's time platform, how could he fend for himself? The armor actually isn't fully powered, but is lightweight, flexible, yet tough enough to withstand most samurai steel.](userimages/customs/11500/11264-1.jpg) Samurai Armor Iron Man Iron Manby vidmouseMy own take on Samurai Armor from the 90's cartoon Iron Man. ![[Faker] Faker started out as an lcbh conan that i intended to make into he-man, but after i made he-man out of x3 juggernaut, i decided i didn't need two he-men running around, so i decided to make faker out of him. . . I left him in two-face mode because i figured skeletor isn't that stupid. . . No way is a blue faker going to fool anyone, so skeletor would've found a way to give faker some mystical color camouflage ability. At least, that's the backstory i'm giving to this figure. The way i have it work, faker's camo ability works via a mystic gel in his belt gem, the only part of him that can't change color (hence, that's what you need to look for). If you manage to damage the gem, faker will revert back to his blue-orange original form.

(I had this idea that Faker and Man-E-Faces were meant to be arch enemies). I thought Mysterio's triple-face was too good to pass up as a base figure, but this needed a lot of mod to get a decent Man-E out of it. Used XMC Stealth Angel's arms and legs (had to be reinforced with screws). Then I cut apart an original battered Man-E-Faces to get his helmet and the robot face, which I glued onto the Mysterio head after I disc-sanded off that dreadful baby face. For Man-E's human face and monster face, I preferred to keep the faces that were already on Mysterio and simply paint them. Not sure if Man-E- ever really had hair so I ignored it and just painted over it in his skin tone vs drawing attention to it. All his skin tone is kinda orange-ish b/c the original figure and 2002 figures are VERY orange... if you have them, you will see what I mean. ![[Skeletor] Used a LCBH Wrarrl figure like a lot of people did, but decided to sculpt the head completely from scratch. Since this was a bit of an experiment, did it w/ super sculpey, then painted it and then covered the paint with glow-in-the-dark varnish (which works, but I'm incapable of showing by photo). The hood is a simple navy cloth I stitched together then inverted to look cleaner. I always thought the original head looked too bonnet-like and wanted him to have a more pointed hood, like a KKK member or something with a more evil connotation. Added bits and pieces of Wrarrl's cape for extra shoulder pads and also for his "bones" chest pieces, and left pieces of Wrarrl's skirt intact to become Skeletor's flaps. The havoc staff is from a Spawn Angela figure, with a Fiaher Price Imaginext dinosaur rider skull helmet at the top (modified w/ a knife and some apoxie sculpt).
