![[Sebastian Shaw] I've been wanting to make Sebastian Shaw for a while now, since he is one of those iconic villains that are surely never going to be released. Sebastian uses the Namor upper body, modded legs, hair etc. Individually detailed hair strands, e includes a character themed base with his name on it and he is now ready to trap your X-men! Thanks for checking!](userimages/customs/48500/48232-1.jpg) Sebastian Shaw | ![[Battle Damaged Classic Iron Man] I've been wanting to do a battle damaged version for a while now since my tiny mark 5 debuted in 2010..this time is a comic book representation of a battle damaged Tony Stark! Every hole, scratch, scuff took a while to detail. It also includes a "Tony Stark" alternate head with the looks of Robert Downey Jr. compatible also with your regular non damaged iron man figure. Thanks for looking!](userimages/customs/48500/48230-1.jpg) Battle Damaged Classic Iron Man |
![[Metallo (Animated Style)] “For internal review only”
Many of you are aware that I don’t like Superman. That is why HKC has partnered with Lexcorp enterprises to release several villains that never made it to the Dcuc style.
My first character is METALLO, as seen in the Superman animated show and the JLU cartoon. He was basically made out of a Cyborg Superman, sculpted shreds of clothing, resculpted legs and arm (to make it look like he is wearing clothes) The head is half a cast of the new Marvel Legends Ghost rider from 2012 then seamlessly integrated with half a head from a Shazam figure, plus the left foot of a Dc universe figure that I had in the parts box. METALLO is now ready to beat the living tar out of the boy scout in blue…and he better succeed or Lex and I will be VERY pissed!
“So much power should not belong to ONE man..”…
-Lex Luthor-
Truer words were never spoken

My next custom is a brand new character for 2013: GLADYA She is the daughter of the evil master of swords: Blade! As expected her outfit is inspired by her dad’s with several new additions like a ponytail and a Chainmail “tank top”
I received a lot of questions about her chainmail: It was made by cutting the apoxie in tiny dots of equal size and then applied one by one, in a row, following the contour of her breasts. It was a time consuming task inspired by the awesome work by Karen Palinko done in the Mera action figure from Dc Direct.
I chose the name “Gladya” cause she carries 2 gladius swords, and she is bald cause it’s a way to pay homage to her dad, however she left a long ponytail as a way of thanking the man who completed her training: The new lord of snake mountain: JITSU!
The bio was written by me (I know, I suck at this) however, Her real name was given thanks to a combination of names that many fans submitted on my](userimages/customs/48500/48168-1.jpg) Gladya (Daughter of Blade) |
![[A Weird Motuc] In my career I have had weird requests..but some are kinda cooler than others. This Motuc was a combination of parts from the Staction, a DC universe Lex Luthor figure, A batgirl cannon a Zodak head etc, it was made way back in 2011, the client paid for all parts and I just did the attaching and paint deco. I have no idea what his name was. but hey looked kinda cool, so I just wanted to share it with you fine people!](userimages/customs/48500/48020-1.jpg) A Weird Motuc | ![[Hydro-Man (Spider-Man 90's Animated Show)] I've always wanted a Hydro man figure, but couldn't find the right way to make his powers look cool in a practical way . After my Cannonball figure I had that "A-HA!" moment and thought, that is the perfect way! Hydro man slides in and out of his base without any problem, the hydro arm also slides in without any swapping of parts. Now Hydro man is ready to steal Mary Jane!](userimages/customs/48500/48019-1.jpg) Hydro-Man (Spider-Man 90's Animated Show) |
![[Killer Frost (Classics JLU Style)] Killer Frost was one of my fave villains in the JLU cartoon, and no figure of her was released in this style. Well to right that wrong (sorta) I made her using a Cheeta base body, Sculpted head from scratch, interchangeable "Ice blast" hand and stand. Now she can join your coillection and be a nightmare for the league! Thanks for checking her out!](userimages/customs/48000/47937-1.jpg) Killer Frost (Classics JLU Style) | ![[Contemporary He-Man (Comic Book Style)] My next custom is inspired by the awesome He-man comic book currently being published by Dc: He-man!! He is decked out in the outfit seen in issue #6 where he battles Skeletor. The figure features a new head and hair sculpt, a Brand new Power harness (non removable) sculpted exactly as seen in the comic book and detailed with a dark wash to simulate a combat worn look. His loincloth features an acrylic faceted jewel embedded in the sculpt, a brand new belt, the traditional 3 part chainmail and newly sculpted fur on the boots and inserts. The figure includes the power sword, axe and half of thepower sword. I would have added blood to the sword, but many motu fans don’t like that in their figures…](userimages/customs/48000/47936-1.jpg) Contemporary He-Man (Comic Book Style) |
![[Arkham City Batman with Cloth Cape and Alternate B] We bat fans always wanted a Batman figure with a real cloth cape, and Arkham city had so many good shots with Batman's cape that releasing him with that rubberish one was just wrong. Here I took faux leather and using a scaled down version of the hot toys DX 12 Batman cape, I was able to re-design one for a 6 inch figure, then added some muscle definition, rivets, combat worn gauntlets and boots, better paint on the bat belt and an alternate Bruce Wayne head (you can see the comparison on the video) and Voila! A batman figure that all fans would be happy with! Thanks for checking!](userimages/customs/48000/47753-1.jpg) Arkham City Batman with Cloth Cape and Alternate B | ![[Shaolin Monks Scorpion with Alternate Head and Spe] A simple custom. Many fans always wanted an alternate way to display your Scorpion figures (the coolest character in MK) so here I made a cast of a Ghost rider head, added translucent flames and a metallic spear permanently attached to a new hand and voila! Scorpion is ten times cooler! (It includes the stock parts also) Thanks for checking it out!](userimages/customs/48000/47752-1.jpg) Shaolin Monks Scorpion with Alternate Head and Spe |
![[Horde Trooper Commander (Motu Classics)] Ever since I debuted Despara and put 2 of my custom horde troopers in the background, I received several requests to release them. I made literally dozens of them back in 2010, and thought nobody would care for them again. I was wrong. many people wanted a reissue and here it is, however I added several new details in, based on the comic book appearances of these popular machines: a removable fire blast, ornaments on his shoulders, newly sculpted crotch, combat worn hands and feet etc. I believe, the appeal of this figure is based in the fact that whenever the official ones are released, this one will still fit in the collection as a kind of "Horde trooper commander" of sorts, so its all great! Thanks for checking it out!](userimages/customs/48000/47723-1.jpg) Horde Trooper Commander (Motu Classics) | ![[Iron Man Mark VII (Avengers Movie)] Ever since I saw the movie I wanted a Mark 7 armor, however we never got it. Sure there is the Revoltech version but it just doesn't fit with the legends figures, feels too blocky and the sculpture doesn't flow. So I took the regular Mark VI and using 3d models from the movie I started to resculpt the chest, arms back neck spine etc etc to achieve the looks of Tony's armor. I added a flight stand (a la hot toys) repulsor blast, removable thruster effects, an alternate Tony Stark head and voila! a new armor ready to add to your collection! ..I really don't want to part with this guy...he looks really awesome! (and no he is not doing the Harlem Shake with the rest of the Avengers in that pic)](userimages/customs/48000/47722-1.jpg) Iron Man Mark VII (Avengers Movie) |
![[Man Wolf (Spider-Man)] My next custom is a classic Spidey Villain: Man wolf! I'm fond of this character since Spidey #125 was the first ever Spider-man comic book I read. He is basically made out of a beast figure, wolviff moon cast head (and modded a bit) I sculpted some more fur around the chest area and gave it a non removable acrylic faceted jewel. A ton of shades of grey(?) were used to re-create the look of fur on the guy. Thanks for checking it out AWOOOOOO!](userimages/customs/47500/47303-1.jpg) Man Wolf (Spider-Man) | ![[Shining Knight (Jlu Style)] Ever since I saw him in the cartoon, I’ve always wanted to make a figure of him. Right after making his pal the Vigilante, I knew Sir Justin had to follow. His tunic, helmet, and wrist guards were sculpted with apoxie while his head was a cast of an early superman figure.
His paint job consists of 3 types of yellow and a dry coat of auric gold paint for a shiny effect (He is the “shining Knight” after al!) one sword later and Sir Justin is ready to join your DCUC ranks!!](userimages/customs/47500/47253-1.jpg) Shining Knight (Jlu Style) |
![[Green Granamyr (Alcala Mini Comic Style)] Hello guys! HKC here to show you my biggest ever motuc custom: GRANAMYR!! Ok first I gotta say that this figure was a huge undertaking to repaint. More than 48 hours to prep and paint him! Several tests were made in other figures to proper obtain the comic book look.
Green Granamyr appeared in the vintage mini comic: “Dragon’s gift” illustrated by Alfredo Alcala.
His skin was painted with 4 tones of green: One base, One wash, and 2 types of drybrush. The colors had to be made in my studio since the proper tones do not exist in any line. After the paint was done, they were discarded and the recipes destroyed so this figure cannot be replicated ever. (needless to say, I won’t make another one any time soon) The joints were worked and shielded so the Dragon can be moderately posed. His arms are permanently attached to the body, following the procedure I outlined in my tutorial, so they won’t fall off. Thanks for checking the dragon out!](userimages/customs/47500/47252-1.jpg) Green Granamyr (Alcala Mini Comic Style) | ![[Maestro Hulk] Ever since I saw the new Hulk figure, I knew I had to make a Maestro. Well 4 months later I was able to deliver. That crown took the most time to do, but gladly I think he came out ok.
Thanks for checking it out!](userimages/customs/47500/47128-1.jpg) Maestro Hulk |
![[Movie Masters Bane (Sewer Fight, Sleeveless)] I have been on a Dark Knight Rises sculpting frenzy lately and my next custom is “Sewer fight Bane” ....Yeah another sleeveless Bane.... Well, I have seen many customs like this with swapped arms onto the regular Bane, however people forget to sculpt the back of his vest…and I don’t blame them, the tooling of the figure makes it complicated to do, however with a little patience, it can be done. Took a lot of going through movie stills to sculpt the correct parts. Thanks for checking it out!](userimages/customs/47500/47127-1.jpg) Movie Masters Bane (Sewer Fight, Sleeveless) | ![[Vigilante (JLU Style)] Hello guys, HKC here with another week of customs. This time with VIGILANTE ! The rootinest tootinest cowboy in the JLU.
Ever since I saw him in the cartoon, I’ve always wanted to make a figure of him. With the release of Jonah Hex I knew I had the perfect base. After resculpting his shirt and pants, I cast a Legends Steve Rogers head and sculpted the bandana. The hat was just modded and repainted. After a quick but detailed paint job, Greg Saunders is ready to join your DCUC ranks!! Thanks for checking it out folks!](userimages/customs/47500/47043-1.jpg) Vigilante (JLU Style) |
![[Despara (Comic Book)] Hello guys! My next figure is a fan demanded character from the New comics: DESPARA! After reading the online issue, I knew I had to make her. She was made out of a modded Jewelstar body, Teela arms and Adora boots . Her pauldrons were sculpted from scratch in layers (That took a while! ) I also gave her a second “Unmasked” head featuring the looks of Adora as seen in the comic book: Short hair and with those weird markings under her eyes. I decided to give her a fabric cape so it flows much more naturally. One repack later and she is ready to maim the rebellion! Thanks for checking her out!](userimages/customs/47500/47042-1.jpg) Despara (Comic Book) | ![[Sun Man (Classics)] Sun man was a job I took 3 years ago, I just found him in my archives (if you see that's my old background) I don't know much about him but the person who ordered him was a big fan. I know it was from a derivative line based in the Masters of the universe figures and there is a huge fan base around. Still an oldie but goodie. Thanks for checking!](userimages/customs/47000/46935-1.jpg) Sun Man (Classics) |
![[Cannonball] One of the mutants I have been wanting to do for a long time is Cannonball. He can easily be removed from his base (it's hollow) so he can be posed in all sorts of "Blast Off" stances. Thanks for checking him out!](userimages/customs/47000/46934-1.jpg) Cannonball | ![[Batman Unlimited Penguin (Animated Style)] This time is the Penguin’s turn. I’ve always liked the style he had in the New adventures of Batman cartoon, so as soon as they released the “super Powers “ version, I knew what I had to do. His face was re-sculpted, erasing that silly smile and changing it for a mischievous Smirk, on the small side I sculpted a string for the monocle. I also gave his umbrella a removable blast attachment to blast that blessed bat, and BAM! he is ready to join your collection!](userimages/customs/47000/46904-1.jpg) Batman Unlimited Penguin (Animated Style) |
![[Crita (New Adventures of He-Man)] My third New Adventures character (Mara and Drissi were the first 2) comes in the form of CRITA! A fan favorite as seen on many polls. This is Crita on her “ Queen of the Gleanons” outfit.
I took special care on sculpting the details of her armor and added some new details on her breastplates and feet (I did not liked the “ballerina” shoes the original design had) she includes a retooled gun with removable blast effect. It was abit hard to o, since the proper buck for her does not exist. I had to modify the crotch part and cover it using a Tallstar retooled crotch cover.
thank you for checking her out!](userimages/customs/47000/46903-1.jpg) Crita (New Adventures of He-Man) | ![[Vic Rattlehead V2 (Black Label Edition)] My first Vic Rattlehead figure was such a success on December, that fans asked me to make yet another one. This time though instead of a reissue, I gave Vic a black suit (V1 had it in blue) newly sculpted rivets on the mask, real chains and patterned tie. Thanks for checking it out!](userimages/customs/47000/46623-1.jpg) Vic Rattlehead V2 (Black Label Edition) |
![[Filmation Teela V3 (Classics)] My third version of Filmation Teela, this time with a better collar and brand new head sculpt. This time I used a She-ra base body I had in my spare parts box cause the bracelets and boots were perfect, an old Evil Lyn tunic completed the looks and volia: New Filmation Teela! Thanks for checking her out](userimages/customs/47000/46622-1.jpg) Filmation Teela V3 (Classics) | ![[Bane 5inch Figure Walmart Exclusive (Professionall] Continuing with my Dark Knight Rises customs, next up is Bane. Ever since I saw the 5 inch Walmart figure I liked it, however the lack of paint applications, made it look like a crappy figure. After seeing tons of picture references from the movie and the Hot toys figure, I was able to paint Bane with the correct skin color, aged pads on the vest, texturing on the pants, accurate mask and eyes. It's a pitty to see where the american toy industry is going, reducing articulation and paint applications. (see the iron man 3 toys...) After acquiring my first Hot Toys figure,(Dx-12 batman) my eyes have been opened to a new standard of quality and craftsmanship that we -as customizers/artists- should strive to imitate and surpass, and its a pitty to see that those high standards are not coming from US toy companies anymore....They come from China,Korea and Japan...Are we going to let that happen? time will tell.](userimages/customs/47000/46565-1.jpg) Bane 5inch Figure Walmart Exclusive (Professionall |
![[Giganta (Jlu Style)] Continuing this year with my JLU/dc universe classics characters, here is GIGANTA. I never liked the Wilma Flinstone version we got as a baf figure, to me, Giganta is the one from the JLU cartoon so taking the Elasti girl base, I resculpted every single part on this baby and then , BAM! instant fully articulable JlU Giganta in the DC Universe classics style. Since I acquired my first Hot Toys figure this week, my eyes have been opened to new standards of quality and craftmanship, so her eyes were painted trying to imitate JC Hong's style..I know it's a pathetic attempt but hey, I had to try.
Thanks for checking her out!](userimages/customs/47000/46564-1.jpg) Giganta (Jlu Style) | ![[Sea Hawk V3 Classics (Reissue)] Ahh....BACK TO MOTUC BUSINESS! and we start with an old time favorite. When I made a poll at my facebook page about what figure should be reissued, the overwhelming majority voted for the good ol' captain here, so I had to make yet another Sea Hawk yay! Well I gave him some tweaks on the armor and sculpt. Now he is Ready to kidnap Princess Adora and take her to parts unknown...Maybe at world's end?...Darn that Sea Hawk!](userimages/customs/46500/46379-1.jpg) Sea Hawk V3 Classics (Reissue) |
![[Lex Luthor (Business Suit)] A simple one but really needed figure in the collection. We always get Lex Luthor in his battle suit but never in his more usual business duds. Well, here with a cast of the battle suit lex face, and a kindly donated business suit from the Movie masters Alfred figure. you get the perfect Lex...If there is something he and I share in common is our dislike for the boy scout in tights...Please hold that Kriptonite closer.](userimages/customs/46500/46378-1.jpg) Lex Luthor (Business Suit) | ![[Daredevil V2 (Shadowland)] After reorganizing my shelves, I found this Daredevil figure and quickly thought of making a Shadowland one, based on the looks he had in the later comics sans the clunky wrist knives (My version 1.0 has them) The figure was completely disassembled to work on the joints, something that was done surprisingly easy without any drilling. after some painting and shading Matt is ready to bring some hell...to hell's kitchen...wait that was awfully redundant...oh well Thanks for checking it out!](userimages/customs/46500/46310-1.jpg) Daredevil V2 (Shadowland) |
