![[Cobra Commander with C.L.a.W.] Hey Everyone, I am back. Not that I stopped making customs but it seems like everything I tried to make in the last 3 months just ended up in a plastic baggie marked "Incomplete due to imcompetence" It was depressing and I questioned my skill as a customizer. Then I was inspired by all these really incredible six inch GI Joe customs I've seen pop up on the realm lately. And I saw this contest and I thought "How perfect!" As a kid one of the things I loved most about GI Joe (besides all the cool characters) was all the cool unique vehicles. So I picked my favorite character and a vehicle I thought was fitting and started.
CC is almost entirely a ML Taskmaster. The only parts that aren't from Taskmaster are his head which came from a Judge Death figure and his lower legs from a movie punisher figure. I changed Cobra Commander's outfit just a little. I decided that since he was piloting a CLAW I would make his suit look more like a pilot's. So I sculpted over his chest](userimages/customs/24000/23800-1.jpg) Cobra Commander with C.L.a.W. G.I. Joeby suprasizemeHey Everyone, I am back. I was so inspired I decided to make one of my own. I had a really hard time finding a body muscular enough but not to "Hulkish" to pull off a good Crossbones. I tried everything from wrestlers to DCSH Bane but none looked right. So I decided on a ML Hercules torso. When I put him together he still didn't look. So I sculpted bigger pecs and traps and he looked a lot better. I also sculpted his shirt and the crossbones symbol. So here is my cheap copy of a Boskoes masterpiece. As always comments greatly appreciated.
Recipe:
Head cast from Camcokids
Torso: Hercules
Arms: HML Thor
Hands,pelvis,and legs: ML Bishop
I Took ole' Crossbones off the shelf and remade the whole figure. All the parts are the same but I re sculpted his chest, traps, shirt and bone emblem. ![[The Unstoppable Juggernaut] As with a lot of customizers I've always wanted a cool Juggernaut custom. Because the Toybiz Juggernaut looks cool but is missproportioned and extremely expensive. Then the question is what scale to make him? I wanted him bigger than the Toybiz Juggernaut but I thought most of the BAF characters were too big to fit in with the Marvel Legends line. Then I saw Madtinker's Juggernaut and was blown away and decided I wanted one like his. First I had problems finding what I needed at the right price but then all of the sudden they all fell in my lap. Even got a casted head and helmet and Hulk arms from Scottrooper (thanks a million). So I started.
I used Madtinker's recipe for the legs using Maestro's feet and thigh while inserting Abomination's calf. The only difference in mine is that I opted to use Abominations's knee. It added alittle height and made his legs look more massive. Then I used Maestro's pelvis and I extended his torso to give him more height. But now I am back so hopefully you will see steady work from me. Anywayz Here is my version of Aunt Petunia's favorite nephew the ever-lovin blue eyed Thing. He was made from Marvel legends Thing head and HOM Thing body(thanks yami) I always liked the head sculpt of the Marvel legends Thing but the body was horrible. And I like the size and shape of the HOM Thing. So I combined the two. First I dremeled off his collar and resculpted the neck then I resculpted his chest cause the cracks he had made him look like a big flower. Added the new head. Sculpted his belt and shorts. The piping on his shorts are headphone wire. Then finally I gave a paint job that made him look like he is really made of rock. ![[Bane] First off I want to apologize for yet another Bane. I never had any intention of making a Bane custom until I met someone on the trading post who wanted a Bane custom in exchange for some of his figures. I had a DCSH Bane and thought wow I can make my first piece for someone. I don't think my customs are good enough but I thought maybe someone will trade for a custom by me. So I checked the realm and saw some AWESOME Banes. I formulated the best recipe I could find and was excited to start. He had a change of heart but I decided to go on anyways and just make it for my collection. When I opened the DCSH Bane I was floored. The sculpt on his chest is AMAZING. I tried various ways to bring out all the detail in his chest and arms. I kept messing with it and finally it was a painted mess. So I used some solvent to clean off the paint and start fresh. But the solvent ate up all the veins and I was crushed. I panicked and posted I needed a Bane torso. No luck there so I bit the bullet and b](userimages/customs/17500/17114-1.jpg) Bane DC Superheroesby suprasizemeFirst off I want to apologize for yet another Bane. When I got I was obviously disappointed so I gave it to my then 3 year old and he of course destroyed it.
A couple of months ago I was going through his room and found some the pieces of it and was about to throw it out or use it as fodder. I also found a Bioncle figure in his room and then it hit me. I could combine the two to make a super articulate Devastator. So I attached the constructicon pieces onto the bionicle frame with nuts and bolts. Sculpted his forearms and shins and added fodder till he looked right. I cut his face and forehead out of the figure and reshaped it with fixit sculpt to more resemble him in the G1 cartoon. I mixed tamiya clear green and lemon yellow to get his color just right. He is kinda like a revotech figure with tons of articulation, he has ball joints in his head, shoulder, elbows, wrists, hips, and knees. Tell me what you think. ![[Calibretto] For my next custom I wanted to go BIG! But I also wanted to make a figure that hasn't been made before (to my knowledge) or most likely never will be made. So I decided to make Calibretto from the Battle Chasers comics. For those of you who aren't familiar Battle Chasers was an ultra cool comic by artist Joe Maduriera made in the late 90's. It was mostly a fantasy comic with some sci-fi elements. Calibretto was a War Golem actually the last War Golem. War Golems were massive robots built to fight wars so there will be less human casualties. But then they were outlawed and all War Golems were forced to be dismantled. But Calibretto was saved because he was discovered to be different. Unlike the other War Golems he was not just a mindless war machine but against his programming had a gentle soul.
Well before making this custom I did alittle research on the character and found out that Joe Mad intended Calibretto to be a tin woodsman type-character in a big suit of armor. Thus the charact](userimages/customs/16000/15765-1.jpg) Calibretto Battle Chasersby suprasizemeFor my next custom I wanted to go BIG! Well for a would-be world conqueror he would have to look regal yet still badass. So I came up with this ceremonial armor for him and I think it suits him. I took a Mongul figure dremmeled off all his little spikes, apoxie sculpted his head piece, chest, and belt. Added Omega red's hands and shoulder pads and finally gave him a real cloth cape. Lastly I scratch built his axe. I've been putting a lot of time into this hobby lately and I have only three to show for it. Some of you guys on here seem to have invested in an custom action figure tree. You create such amazing customs and in such a short amount of time. You have my utmost respect. Anywayz I have always liked the Iron Monger character but the movie figure reminds me of a pokeball with arms and legs. So when I saw Cpt Zero's version I knew I had to give it a shot. Just a few changes. First I used the Iron Monger head for authenticity. I hate that all the HB Iron man customs have that space around his head. So I dremeled the Iron monger head to fit and apoxied smooth. Removed the shoulder pads because I think it interfered with his overall shape. I added vents instead because everyone knows that you have to have vents to release heat if you don't want the rider to roast alive. ![[Bonebreaker] My second custom figure is the new and improved Bonebreaker. I've always been a big fan of the Reavers and Bonebreaker was my favorite but something always bothered me about him. The Reavers were supposed be super-advanced cyborgs but Bonebreaker could be defeated by simple stairs. So I made mine with tank treads that can be converted into legs. This way he can traverse any terrain.
Recipe:
Lex Luthor head (wanted him to look crazy cause he was always the craziest reaver)
He-man torso and arms
Armada transformer(sorry can't remember his name) was the tank part
Cybornetic backpiece is destroy droid
Shades from XMC Rogue

I do have a suggestion for this website though, I think there should be a way to vote customs into a Hall of Fame type section. My vote goes to Loosecollector's new Sabertooth.
