![[Catwoman (TDKR Concept)] Many fans were at least a little disappointed when Catwoman's appearance in the upcoming (LESS THAN A WEEK!!!!) film "The Dark Knight Rises" was revealed. While there's nothing wrong with a plain, functional catsuit, it's just a plain catsuit, in comparison to the high-tech, inventive look of the Batsuit and the interesting design of the Joker's costume. So here's what I would rather the outfit look like. I was quite happy to come across a Matrix Trinity action figure and immediately saw Catwoman potential. I sanded the hair down a little, sculpted a cowl over it and sculpted the arm-length gloves as well. I then used a piece of cloth to imprint some texture. The zipper down the front is a twisty tie, and I painted the cowl and gloves black. Not too complicated, but I think it looks alright.](userimages/customs/41000/40811-1.jpg) Catwoman (TDKR Concept) | ![[Ra's Al Ghul V2] This is an updated and improved version of one of my very first customs. ![[Crime Alley Diorama] I got a Tomb Raider motorcycle diorama for a decent price and thought it might make a good Crime Alley. So, I dirtied the whole thing up with some drybrushing, spray-painted the "graffiti", printed out several things to paste on the walls, stuck bits of plastic bag/newspaper on the floor and made psuedo-barb wire with twisty ties. I also made some six-inch scale roses and a black paper box to put them in. Each one of the posters has some significance, and so does the graffiti. Bonus points if you can tell me where the "missing" poster at the bottom is from (don't worry, it's not a real-life missing person notice)!
The roses are made of toothpicks and epoxy putty. The box was made from pieces cut out of plastic blister packaging, taped together, covered in newspaper and painted. I decided "heck with it" and put together a Liam Neeson Ra's. I wanted to save the Scarecrow Suit body and instead use a Ghostbusters MM Courtroom Peter Venkman, but the head was attached differently and attempts to sculpt a neck failed, so I just went with the Scarecrow body. The head is from an Avatar Movie Masters Miles Quaritch. I thought it bore a passing resemblance to Liam Neeson and hopefully that resemblance is improved after hair and moustache/beard have been sculpted on. ![[Poison Ivy] I haven't been customising for almost a year, and it's good to get my hands dirty again. I got inspired when I saw the Toy Fair pictures of DC Club Infinite Earths Poison Ivy, but know there's next to no way I'll be able to obtain this beauty. I also had no appropriate base figure, until I chanced upon a loose DCUC Star Sapphire at the toy flea market.
I cut off the collar, top of her tiara, then sculpted over that and the star below her navel with two-part epoxy putty. I left the bits around the eyes, because it's kind of like how Poison Ivy looked in Batman and Robin. Then I sculpted the lining for the costume, and the twine and leave decoration on her legs (which I'm quite pleased with, even though it's still very shoddy compared to a lot of the work here on the realm). Then paint (which is the worst part of this custom - I can't obtain model paint like Testors or Citadel around here).
Hope you guys like it! Comments and advice welcome. Thanks for lookin'.

![[Red Hood 2] This is version 2 of my Red Hood custom: I realise my first one ended up looking pretty sorry, even though it was the most ambitious custom I'd done up to that point (and still is). I'm having a lot of trouble achieving clean paints and need some help with that, perhaps the trick is in applying multiple thin coats instead of one thick one, but eh for the time being. The recipe is the same as the first version: body from Black Manta, jacket and lower arms from Jack Knight Starman, head from a Spider-Man figure and sculpted over, holster, knife, pistol, pads on gloves and boots and blousing of the trousers all sculpted.
For this updated version, the first thing I did was trim the jacket so it looks shorter, more like the bolero-type motorcycle jacket Red Hood wears in the "Under the Hood" storyline. Then I tried to clean up the paints, and here he is, marginally improved - the last photo has the first version on the left and the new one on the right.
