All you can do is make other Doctor Dooms, Doombots and Iron Man armors. I recently managed to acquire a near complete run of "What If?" comics and was delighted to see a story that gave me new options for both Doom and 'ol Shellhead. The story, titled "Demon in The Armor" **SPOILERS** is from a one shot in which Doom and Stark are college roommates. A jealous Doom creates a machine to switch bodies with Tony and steals his identity and fortune. Doom goes on to create his version of the Iron Man armor, and Tony (brainwashed and in the body of Victor Von Doom) creates a "rescue armor using traditional Latverian designs", and makes a red and gold Doom Armor. Not a bad story, and a great inspiration for customs. I knew if I was going to create the main cast I HAD to make Giant-Man or it wasn't worth attempting. He's such a major character in the story, he had to be done. After weighing the pros and cons of using Marvel Universe 12-inch Giant-Man or Black Goliath, BG won out. At the time I got the figure, Black Goliath was both easier to find, and far more inexpensive to purchase, as the secondary market price on Giant-Man is nuts. Also, I figured Ben Foster's head was a lot easier to mod into the classic Giant-Man head. ![[Marvel Zombies Hulk and Wolverine] Two more from my Marvel Zombies set, Hulk and Wolverine! These guys are strait on repaints with some modding for their mouths. Zombie Hulk started as a Grey Hulk. Out of all the MU Hulks, I thought he would be the best to make Zombie Hulk with. I made some mods to the sides of his head, and trimmed some of his hair off to match the look of his comic counterpart, and of course to give him more damage to look more zombie-like. Iron-Man is from a Iron Man 2 Classic Iron Man (#28)...one of my favorite molds of the "pointy head" Iron Man. I initially was going to use a single carded MU Iron Man, but realized that it wasn't going to good, especially with the others in the set, so I bit the bullet and used an IM2 one. I used a rotary tool to saw him in half, adding some sculpting to make the gore/spinal column hanging from where his legs used to be. I realized early on that I couldn't just repaint She Hulk; she'd need some extra work done. Her hair was taken from a Moore Action Collectibles Witchblade figure (remember those?), modded to fit the figure. Her head is from an unknown Star Wars figure ( I believe it's the female from the Joker Squad set). Though She Hulk's arms work great for her, they didn't seem like they were buff enough for Skeets. MU Iron Fist arms worked perfectly to giver her arms more definition, but not look overly freakish. Her boots, belt and spikes were custom sculpted...And yes, she did have some "enhancements" to her bust line. I normally try to avoid that when doing female customs (feels kinda skeevy sculpting that, heh), but from all the reference I got of Titania, it just seemed right for her character. Over the course of my collecting MU, I've gotten quite a few of these in my collection, and unfortunately the figure doesn't lend itself well to customs. This is a figure no one wants, so I had no choice but to find something to do with it. Classic style Sentinels seem to be a decent idea. I've always liked the idea of human-sized Sentinels to hunt and battle mutants in smaller/confined areas. I added custom sculpting for boots and cuffs on the arms as well as sculpting on the head to make them look more Sentinel like. This was my first attempt at such a mod to an action figure. He's pretty hollow on the inside, so it wasn't super difficult. The figures are simple, but look great and they all lend themselves pretty well to customs because of that. The one that really caught my eye was the black suited cobra commander, who essentially uses the body of a Crimson Guard Trooper. To make the four of the troopers, I used four Extreme condition pack CG Trooper heads/helmets and repainted them, on one of the troops however, his helmet isn't removable (ran out of CG/Fred heads), but with a few accessories, you have the option to display him as either a Crimson Shadow Guardsman, or as a custom Cobra Commander! When it came time for me to do this custom, I know I wanted to pay homage to his original look, but I wanted to take his design much further.
