They all had their first full year to get use to everything. and I believe Steve Rogers AKA Captain America was no different, which is why I gave this diorama the Year One title. Here we have a diorama of Rogers in the heat of battle holding an M1 Garand, he hasn't started using his iconic Thompson yet, he does have his blue helmet but it fell to the ground during the fight, and if u notice on his jacket he only has two bars on it. Maybe he had to earn the rank of Captain and it wasn't just given to him. Enjoy

![[Captain America] I started out with a Headless F-O Cap and a ML Series VIII Cap head. I wanted a Cap that was a little closer to the ML VIII Cap that the head came from. I had a Series III Daredevil that I pretty much hated because of his blah sculpt and poor articulation but he had boots and hands that would work pretty good for my Cap.
I cut the pegs off the boots and dremeld sockets in their place to keep the articulation for the lower leg swivel and crafted forearms out of scrap arms and putty to make the hands fit. I did manage to keep the mid forearm swivel as well.
I repainted the head to match the body. I painted the boots and gauntlets brown and added red details just to give the figure a little more color. I partially repainted tha arms, legs and torso to get rid of scuffs and blemishes and added the gray panels on the pants. I threw in a shield that I picked up with the head and well, there he is.](userimages/customs/48500/48428-1.jpg) Captain America Captain Americaby ksdaddyI started out with a Headless F-O Cap and a ML Series VIII Cap head. He's going to be a main villian in the next Captain America movie "Winter Soldier" so I'm sure we'll see alot more of them in the future.
I never was a fan of the ML Crossbones so I wanted to come up with a better one. Also, I display it with a Marvel Select Movie Red Skull so he had to be big and imposing.
My custom is inspired by many others here, the recipe is familiar to realmers already but I've also added some of my own touches. I used the Thunderbolts version of Crossbones (Brock Rumlow) because I like the design, I wanted to make him a little different to the usual Crossbones custom and Thunderbolts is the one I had the most reference materials to work with as well.

![[Captain America (17" Statue Restoration)] A 'request' by a fellow I met at the WizardWorld Comicon this past April: Bring his old, battered (and horribly painted) Captain America statue back to life.
::What needed restoration / fixing:
-The weasel-face. Check out the WIP shot - it's horrible! The original piece looked like a B-List Spider-Man villain, complete with unevenly sculpted 'crazy' googly-eyes, and a distinctly non-heroic looking snout. Resculpted the face as much as the fellows budget would allow.
-The funhouse-mirror of a shield: Either due to a casting error or time, the shields vinyl had warped terribly. I heated it up, reset/cooled it, but wound up resculpting the entire top-surface by hand. Painted the shield top with MR. Color lacquer paint (red) & Vallejo Acrylic (blue & white) + sealed with x2 dips in Future Floor Polish (for the glossy & leveling/smoothing effect). Attached it with pieces cut from a MM Batman cape (black flexible plasic) for arm-straps.
-Fix the paint job. Not easily done. I was unable to do any re-sculpting in fear of ruining the figure. But decided instead all he needs is a repaint , custom made belt strap , and sculpted chin strap. This repaint is version number 3, it took a while to get it right when it clicked that the suit is actually a light blue and the helmet a dark blue. All paints used were citadel paints to give a nice smooth finish followed by washes to make him look dirty.The shield was sprayed with gloss to make it as shiny as possible. I will be doing the shield in Chromed colours soon. I also think that he looks better now with the neck painted skin rather than blue.
