![[Rick Deckard] This is another scratch custom, I didn't really plan on it, but have been wanting to make a custom of the character for a long time and just ended up using parts I had on hand since I couldn't scrounge the needed ones together. I really wanted to use the MU Professor X as a base so he would be in scale with MU figures and have better articulation, but it proved too hard to get another one. The other problem is that obviously, I wanted to use a Harrison Ford head sculpt and it seems all the SW and Indy heads are just slightly smaller than MU scale. I wanted to use a Vintage Collection Han as the head but when I got a hold of the figure and put it on my collection Xavier to test out the combo, it was still way too small.
I had a Deluxe Indy fig I had literally just bought for the Hat/Bag as fodder and figured I could use him. Very small scale sculpt work, I re-sculpted the hair after scalping him, and then added on the tie. The rest was just a new paint job. ![[BLADE RUNNER | Richard Deckard Harrison Ford] Here we have Richard Deckard from Blade Runner. I have seen this figure done a few times but that has never stopped anyone from trying it themselves…
Christopher Reeve Superman anyone?…
Anyway, he is made from a surplus Indiana Jones figure with hair and shirt altered and a jacket from an ultimate soldier figure. I had planned to use this format for a Toht figure but I tried it once and wasn't crazy about the results but THIS seems much more worth the effort. The shirt is colored with 3 different shades of sharpie. Upper part is pinstriped with fine point.
I also made packaging for this figure since I had seen that done as well BUT I wanted to take a few liberties with the traditional Star Wars adaptation. Since it wasn't really a Lucas film movie but WAS an 80's sci-fi movie I took a few turns to make this its own design. I used the Ennis House Frank Lloyd Wright bricks as the background image and also the promotional image of Ford's likeness peering in from the righ](userimages/customs/39500/39202-1.jpg) BLADE RUNNER | Richard Deckard Harrison Ford Blade Runnerby GeekSummitHere we have Richard Deckard from Blade Runner. ![[Rick Deckard Andriod Hunter] Hi to all at figure realm, firstly can I say what a fantastic site you have. I visit it regularly to check out all the new custom figures. My name is justyn lee I am an artist/illustrator from the u. K. This is my first custom made figure. I am a blade runner/harrison ford fan so it was an obvious choice to make my own rick deckard figure. The recipe is as follows: the head is a new han solo figure with resculpt hair and repainted eye as the toy makers insist on giving him brown eyes when they are clearly green. Very subtle dry brushed grey to simulate stubble. The base figure is comprised from g. I. Joe 25th anniversary figures. I pieced him together from numerous parts. The chest, the stomach & crotch, the arms, the thighs, the lower legs, the shoes are from different figures all resculpted and then painted. The trenchcoat is from a police detective gordon figure. I would love mcfarlane would make this character at his movie maniacs series. I used disney 7" indiana jones body, ml gambito's coat and ml punisher's hands wich have more points of articulation. RECIPE
Figure - The figure is the Disney figure I removed his jacket so I could add a new one and the head has had some sculpty clay added to the hair and reshaped.
Clothing - The shirt was trimmed and sanded down and sculpty clay was used to make a new collar, the shirt was then repainted and a tie was add using some left over pleather. The inner coat is some old cloth I had lying around cut to size and glued in place, The main jacket is from Marvels Gambit I cut of the sleeves and reapainted it.
Belt, Holster & Pistol - the belt is old rubber strip I have in the bits box, the buckle is a piece of plastic cut to size and shape. Blade Runner. sculpted the shirt, belt and blaster with sculpey; ApoxieSculpt was used to fill the holes for dock's tentacles and sculpt the coat collar. dremelled away certain parts of the coat to get rid of the two-coats effect and make it look like Deckard's suit jacket underneath. also I dremelled away at the face to get rid of some of the Alfred Molina puffiness and give a more accurate likeness by straightening the nose and getting rid of the double chin and jowls. used photo's and the DVD to get the costume right, and I'm proud to say that everything (including the wacky shirt) is pretty darn accurate to the movie. The Diorama I did inbetween sessions and is from sculpey. it's not the right shape but the pedestrian lights are accurate to the film.
