I'm new to the site and customizing, but I've admired the work of all the great customizers on this site for awhile before joining and have been lucky enough to purchase some of the various works posted here and figured that it was time to try my hand at customizing. Hopefully this will be the first of many to come. Now that I've got the intro out of the way, on to the custom.
I guess I'd have to say that this was a Shinobitron-inspired custom due to awesome customs I've seen of his Mega Bloks which made me want make Ryu Hayabusa here from Ninja Gaiden. RYu's recipe is as follows :

Torso, Cod piece , Upper & Lower Legs - Mega Bloks Black Suit Spiderman with sculpted straps, buckles & kunai along with the split toe cut out of the feet
Upper Arms - Mega Bloks Venom
Lower Arms - Mega Bloks Captain America but reversed (left Cap lower on right Venom upper etc.) with sculpt

![[Bootleg Ryu Hayabusa Toys] While browsing a local cheapo dollar store, I spotted a carded set of 5 multicolored ninja toys. All the ninjas had the same body clearly based on the modern Ninja Gaiden, while the white ninja and the yellow ninja's heads looked exactly like the modern and NES version respectively. I bought them for a laugh and never even opened them, until I started working on my custom 3.75 Ryu. I noticed the scarf sculpted into the body was just what I needed for my current project, and when I was finished and still had all the paints out, I decided to repaint the bootleg figures. I just painted the heads and arms, and switched them to the black and blue bodies. I like how they turned out, even NES Ryu's color mismatched head, all part of that crummy bootleg charm. At some point in the future, I think it'd be fun to photoshop a fake blister card for them.](userimages/customs/24500/24238-1.jpg) Bootleg Ryu Hayabusa Toys Ninja Gaidenby VelvetPythonWhile browsing a local cheapo dollar store, I spotted a carded set of 5 multicolored ninja toys. It's a Storm Shadow body from the Battle Damaged Snake Eyes 2-pack with a movie Storm Shadow head. The scarf was part of a dollar store toy ninja's body, I cut him up with a hacksaw and dremelled the part down until it looked good, and adjusted its shape with some Apoxie Sculpt. The trailing edge of the scarf was cut from a toothpaste tube, and it can be posed to look like it's blowing in the wind.](userimages/customs/24500/24237-1.jpg) Ryu Hayabusa Ninja Gaidenby VelvetPythonAfter seeing all the great NES era Ryu Hayabusa figures here, I wanted to make one of my own! ![[Ryu Haybusa] Kyle's Ryu Hayabusa D.O.B. 02/19/09
Here we have Ninja gaiden II's Ryu Hayabusa in 6 inch form (you can see him in scale next to the NECA Ryu H.) Ryu was made from a ML Ronoin from the Ronin Electra 2-pack. I also have had the pleasure of getting an extra NECA Ryu from a Customer for a Commission I'm working on, so I striped down that Ryu and had all the parts to make this custom. The parts from the 7 inch Ryu are the Chest buckles, the scarf, the tonfas, The upper shin gards, and the top silver part of the helmet. The rest of the head was sculpted with Apoxie Sculpt by Aves, and I did the cloth texture on the mouth cover by rolling the handle of my sculpting tool over it a few times. The silver head peice converts great to 6 inch scale once you glue it onto a smaller head, it just wraps around and looks smaller. I also had to sand of the shoulder pads off ronin with was a pain. Then I painted the whole thing up and now we have a 6 inch Ryu to hang with all your favorite marvel legend](userimages/customs/13000/12839-1.jpg) Ryu Haybusa Ninja Gaidenby Kyle RobinsonKyle's Ryu Hayabusa D.O.B. 02/19/09

![[Genshin Leader] Used the body of WWE Daivari and the head of Joeys Styles to create Genshin. scarf tail and the saya was made by dipping the straw in plastic dip for the saya. The seam for the scarf tail is made of a piece of paper and dipped in to plastic dip. The daggers are form another figure and were molded and plastic dip poured into the mold to make eight of them. The entire armor and pads, blades were all made from apoxie sculpted and wires. The two hardest things about this figure were to see where to place each marking/ distinguishing features of the character onto the figure. The second was getting the color correct. The worst part about it is because with my hobby/business being custom figures, my love of comic books and sci fi and my propensity for donning a costume every now and again myself, people ASSUME I not only play video games, but play them well. I am a big fan of the design of the games, however, such as Ryu here from the classic Ninja Gaiden series. I started with a 12" Pirates Will Turner, swapped out the head, hands and feet for some old Power Elite body parts and then set to work. I made the helmet from a power rangers lollipop head (these things are a Godsend when it comes to making helmets)and unstuffed a partially plush 12" batman from Batman Begins, re tailored the body and made a suit from it. I added a re tailored Van Helsing pleather vest and scarf and then some shin and forearm covers from a snake eyes figure. He was styled like the new 25th Anniversary GI Joe action figures and was made from a Stormshadow body, Xamot upper arms, and Riplcaw's arm bands for the sash tails. His wrist wraps, belt, and neck sash were sculpted with Fixit Sculpt. ![[Ryu from Ninja Gaiden] Here's Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden! The Sigma 6 GI Joe animated style is popular with some people and I really like the design of the figures so I'm doing a whole line of video game characters with them. Ryu was created from a Samurai Storm Shadow body. I had to resculpt parts of his arm/leg wrappings, hands, and any other parts that had those plugs on them along with removing the metal face plate. His belt, gi and neckwrap were sculpted from Aves Fixit Sculpt as well. The coolest thing tho is he wields a stainless steel Dragon Sword! You can take this thing apart like a real katana and its tsuba, habiki, and blade all seperate. There's even the swordmaker's name in kanji scribed on the tang! I've done a Marvel legends style Ryu in the past but I absolutely love this version as he has the red arm wraps like the arcade version. He was painted entirely by hand with all the different wash/drybrush techniques I use without any airbrushing this time. Hope you like him!](userimages/customs/6000/5550-1.jpg) Ryu from Ninja Gaiden Ninja Gaidenby Jin SaotomeHere's Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden! Levit was responsible for the whole figure, but Stef modified the head and feet due to them being too small. Without him, Ryu's feet and head wouldve looked way out of proportion. As far as I know for base material, deathloks feet were used, as well as black panthers lower legs. SOTA's Ryu's arms were used, and the cape, scabbard, and pads were sculpted.
