I didn't do all of the added articulation on this in since I wanted to get the Ab Crunch done correctly first. I can always swing back later to do that. He looks pretty good for a bad guy. He lost his love, Lois Lane, and saw what it would take to truly keep the world safe. After meeting several like-minded super powered beings, he formed the Justice Lords to help survey the Earth and keep it clear of any and all criminal activity. He took off Jor-El’s red and blue uniform, and instead donned one that’s black and white, to match his new view on justice. There are no gray areas with this new Justice Lord Superman.”
I really love the new suit in the upcoming Man of Steel movie, so I got it in my head that it would be cool to try out different design concepts. One of the most popular, and one that I too happen to love, is the Justice Lords costume from the episode “A Better World” from the Justice League cartoon. Since the costume is all black, I used the arms and lower body from the Movie Masters General Zod figure, and the torso, head, and cape from Superman. ![[John Blake Nightwing V. 3] This the latest version of a custom I've been tinkering with. Like everyone else, I wanted to make a custom action figure of what John Blake might look like as Nightwing, and there are many such really good customs on the realm. The base figure was a Prototype Batsuit because I wanted a leaner look for Nightwing (though it does result in the head looking a mite big). I sculpted on the chest emblem, collar, shoulder armour strips and the bottom of the gauntlet. The removable wings are cut out of sheet plastic and held in place by two twisty wires, a technique I used for my Batman Beyond custom. The main things that I changed are the mask and hair - I ditched the removable mask and decided to permanently sculpt one on, and sculpted additional hair on the front of his head so he looks a little more Nightwing-like. With the colour scheme, I wanted to blend the default blue look and the Renegade/New 52 red look Nightwing has had, as well as drawing some inspiration from the colours of a Ken](userimages/customs/50000/49993-1.jpg) John Blake Nightwing V. 3 Movie Mastersby JeddTheJediThis the latest version of a custom I've been tinkering with. This was originally Phase I of what I had intended for my ultimate Man of Steel Superman figure. At first I thought this would take 2 figures to make one complete figure but with careful cutting I was able to make it happen with ONLY one figure. The torso is scored using an xacto to define the new joint then the body is pulled apart into top and lower half. A 3/8 ball bearing becomes the pivot with a 1/4" button magnet on either side then the buttons are reinforced with 1/8" slices of hot glue added to their outsides. The inside of the body is then dotted with hot glue to create a connection point keeping all articulation internal with no external evidence of tampering.
The lower end of the upper torso is then dragged over 2 diverse grits of sand paper to round off the front and back to allow for smooth movement. Once complete I added the fabric cape as well as my normal adjustments.

Stll, I couldn’t help but wonder what it would look like a little more classically inspired. So I took the newly released Man of Steel Movie Masters Superman figure and gave him a full repaint that’s inspired by his classic look. I made the reds and blues much more vibrant, and even gave him back his trunks! It has an intricate paint job with lots of washes and dry brushes of various pigments to help really bring out every detail in the suit. I made sure, for the yellow in his emblem and belt, to use two different gold hues to bring out a vibrant metallic look. I also sculpted a little spit curl coming down from his hair, to really drive home the classic Superman vibe I was going for. I also made it so Superman can actually look up now! The standard figure was a dog, in that it couldn’t look up at all, but with a little modification he can now look up to the skies, and looks good](userimages/customs/50000/49583-1.jpg) Superman Man of Steel Classic Repaint W/ Heat Visi |
![[Man of Steel | Superman with Added Torso Articulat] I took another superman an scored the abdomen right below the emblem. I then heated up the lower torso so I could round it off to fit back inside the now hollowed upper torso. I then placed a button magnet in the top torso and a metal ball bearing in the lower torso. Then with much easier access I added the cape and BAM!!! Phase 1 to correct our mis articulated Super Hero. While I added range there's still some work that could be done to make it more controllable.
All the same tricks have been used on the body itself. The hips have been cut back to allow deeper movement of the legs. The knees akles and elbows have been bored out for a tighter close and the neck has been deepened for a better head tilt for flying.

I had to be much more precise with the holes for the cape to be pulled through. If your off it will show pretty badly. The entire figure is given a black wash to deepen the texture details in the costume and muscles. The silver banding also gets a detailing individually. Joints in the knees and elbows have been deepened for added articulation. The neck and hips and ankles have also been altered for better flight posing. I removed the lowest banding connected to the t-crotch to allow the legs to go further back and forward for added standing and flying poses.

![[Brainiac (Man of Steel Concept)] Brainiac!!
After seeing the costume designs for Man of Steel coming up, I noticed that Zod's armor is very reminiscent of H.R. Giger's work. Of course, I immediately wanted to see how bad ass I could make a Brainiac in a similar style.
I had bought that Prometheus 2-pack a while back, wanting to use the tentacles for a future custom (keep yer eyes peeled kiddies!). This one ended up being a REAL Frankenstein mix of parts:
I used the Engineer body, and cut up the skirt from a Stargate figure. I also used the head from a Dc Direct JUSTICE Lex Luthor, and used round jewelry chain links to make the 'plugs' on Brainiac's head.
Backpack is made up of Spawn parts and DC Collectibles Mr. Freeze, and the posable 'utility arms' on his back came from a Matrix Sentinel. The bionic arm and boots came from a Neca Bionic Commando figure, while the claw and extendable tentacle came from a Spider-Man 2 Movie Doc Ock. Oh, and his right fore-arm & hand came from a Neca Bulletstorm figure. I think this time, I got REALLY close to total accuracy in terms of sculpt and paint colors. The upper portion of the cape is sculpted while the cape itself is cloth.
Other than the head, there is NO poseability, but the head tilts left, right, up, and down, and of course it rotates too so you can kinda pose him in a variety of looks/positions. He'll be on eBay by the end of today.

I searched for a long time before I came across a head that fit RDJ's overall look/bone structure enough to satisfy (to avoid sculping one from scratch), and I really think I found one.
