![[Judge Dredd] I Just wanted an upgrade of the crap that toybiz gave us. I started with the legendary comic book heroes Judge Dredd, and just made him better. I used the arms, lower legs, belt, and head from the figure, and scrapped the torso. I used the DC Universe Classic original green lantern upper body, and Jonah Hex legs. Did a little sculpting on the neck and chest area. I swapped out all the parts, and made a custom torso adapter to attach the two halves using two bearings. I repainted the parts using model masters paints, black base with a light blue dry brushing. I used gold bare-metal foil on the helmet, badge, and belt-buckle. Finally I used a real chain from the neck to the badge. The result is a taller, bulkier, more bad-a@@ looking Judge Dredd that will look great next to the other figures in my collection. I was also able to keep all the articulation without it looking dumb like some of the other marvel legends type figure. ![[Mean Machine] As part of my little 2000ad project- I present my "Mean Machine" Angel.
Mean is a famous character from the comics and was one of the few good characters from the god awful Dredd film with Sly Stallone.
Mean has a disk on his forehead that at each click of the dial he headbutts people, animals, buildings, anything, and as the numbers rise from 1 to 4 so does the ferocity of his headbutts and anger! Being stuck on number 4 ios not a good place to be as Mean often completely loses control at that point.
He has had many run ins with Dredd in the past. I liked the character so a figure was a natural progression.
Base figure: Superhero Showdown Wolverine- this figure was ideal for me- didn't take a lot of work- I cut one arm off at the shoulder and I made the robotic arm from the figure stand "arm" that you get with the showdown figures.
A few scrap bits to make it look more robotic and Mean has his moveable robot arm. The hand can also twist round at the wrist- the](userimages/customs/31500/31390-1.jpg) Mean Machine 2000 ADby Fant0masAs part of my little 2000ad project- I present my "Mean Machine" Angel.

these are my most recent customs- spurred on by my love for 2000ad comics and characters
first up is the awesome Judge Dredd- I've done Dredd before but not in this scale and I really wanted a 3/34 inch figure of him.
Recipe:
Base figure- POC Zartan- I cut the lover legs off and added the Superhero Showdown Ghost Rider boots as they were more "Dredd like" and chunky as per the comics-actually I could have made them MUCH bigger but I wanted to strike a balance between the comic and the more "realistic" Dredd approach in the fan film "Judge Minty". The Gloves were taken from another GI Joe movie figure- but I can't remember which one-probably a neo viper or something.....
Head- Marvel Universe Cable- I did originally use the Zartan head as he did have the sneer that Dredd has- but when I saw cable I know I had found my Dredd head! ![[Judge Dredd] As part of my latest customs I wanted to do a more comic accurate Dredd figure.
The LCBH is ok but the face is a mix of comic and the film Dredd. At a collectors fair recently I found a DC Direct Saint of Killers figure- the face is a pretty good representation of the artwork by Steve Dillon, plus he had the perfect snarl and chin for a Dredd figure!
So after a lot of cutting, filing, etc, I got the Saint of Killers head cut down enough to fit into a LCBH Dredd helmet and voila- one comic accurate Dredd!
To me this is how Dredd should look and I think this custom ticks the boxes in my opinion.
Also as part of this project- as I was making a comic accurate Dredd- he needed a couple more adjustments before he was complete.
Using the Daystick and Lawgiver Mk2 accessories from the ReAction Dredd figure (which are excellent-shame about the figure!!) I set about giving them both paint jobs to look like their comic counterparts. These bikes are the street Judge's main vehicle, patrolling the mean streets of Mega City 1.
I was quite nervous attempting this custom as I wanted it to turn out as well as I could, and this is the first vehicle I've attempted at this scale. I have been looking for a suitable bike base model for some time- then I found the base model and things just came together.
This version of the Lawmaster is not a specific one from the comics- I was looking at various artist's drawings of the bike and just basically picked out the bits I liked the best.
The announcement of the new Dredd film is also making my head work overtime- so I wanted to get this custom (and other Dredd/2000ad customs) done before a toy company comes along and produces a range of figures( hopefully anyway!!)

![[Cursed Earth Koburn - Judge Dredd/2000ad] Hey everyone! Haven't posted in a while- but managed to finish one custom I have wanted to do for a ages- Cursed Earth Koburn.
The figure is based on classic 2000ad artist Carlos Ezquerra's amazing artwork. Carlos himself was partly responsible for designing Judge Dredd waaaay back in the 1970's and is a HUGE influence on British comics- he is one of my all time favourites!
Judge Marshall Koburn is a Judge who took the Long Walk from Mega City one to bring justice to the Cursed Earth, Law to the lawless.
Koburn is a Judge who is a maverick and doesn't keep to the strict, rigid codes of the Mega City One Judges, such as Dredd himself- in fact they are poles apart! But Koburn is an honest Judge, if a little unorthodox at times, but that is how he has to survive in the radioactive desert and harsh badlands of the Cursed Earth. I highly recommend people check out this great story in the pages of the 2000ad Megazine- or you can pick up the collected works in the graphic novel "JUDGE](userimages/customs/24000/23574-1.jpg) Cursed Earth Koburn - Judge Dredd/2000ad 2000 ADby Fant0masHey everyone! I'm hoping to make a few different characters that have been part of the Dredd Universe-these may be Street Judges to the Tech and Forensic Judges to some of Dredd's classic enemies such as the Mean Machine and the Angel Gang( who I am starting to piece together now) and others that have appeared in the comic over the past decade or so since I first started reading 2000ad.
So to start I present Judge Anderson-
