![[Wolverine] I was digging in a box of figures, and found this. This was a custom that I did years ago, before I was trying, and I decided to revisit it. I bought the toybiz two pack of wolverines just for this figure and loved the sculpt work on it, but it was all cut up, bloody, and damaged. I wanted an un-damaged version of it. So I filled in the holes and cleaned it up. Then did a terrible paint job with whatever paints I had around. Nothing matched at all.
Jump about 7 years later, and I went back and fixed it up. I trimmed down the claws on his right hand, as they were way too long. Since his legs only went up and down with no knee articulation, and he was just going to sit on my shelf, I just sculpted the lower part into one piece. I filled in the peg holes in his arms, did a complete repaint with model masters, and citadel paints. Since Logan is a hairy little guy, I added the flocking to his arms and face. I love using this for an extra effect. Now he has fuzzy sideburns, and arms. I am surprised Mcfarlane toys has not come out with a figure for this yet. Just a really expensive statue.
This was really easy, and just took a few hours.
I started with a DCUC Black Lantern Hal Jordan, swapped out a SCUC Sinestro head, and a right hand for a movie Spawn hand.
I started off by cutting off the ears, and nose. Then sculpted over the head, and the top of the arms with epoxy, and the body with a clear silicone. It gives it a cool texture,is flexible, and can be painted. I sanded down the arm joints to help with paint rub and then did a repaint on the figure with model masters, and citadel paints. The figure still has all the original articulation. This came together very fast and I was able to learn a lot from working with different sculpting medias.

![[Jason Todd the Red Hood] Why is it that we got such terrible figures, like Jemm, and robotman, but no Jason Todd figure, from the Dc Universe Classics? Well here is my version of what it might look like. There are so many great versions on figure realm that inspired this so thanks to all of you who came before.
So here is what I did.
The unmasked head is from dcuc Red Arrow, with sculpted hair.
The Masked head is from dcd Starman figure
The torso and jacket are from the dcd Mr. Terrific(everyone else uses the dcuc one, and I wanted mine a little different. Plus I really like the way the jacket looks.) with a little sculpt on the torso.
The lower torso and legs are from dcuc Jonah Hex.
The boots are from the Red Arrow figure.
The hands are from the Walmart Ultimate Captain America
The knife and guns are from various McFarlane figures, and the crowbar is from the Neca Spirit figure.
To join the two halves together I used my new patented double ball bearing swivel connection.
Tell me what you think below. I used the arms, lower legs, belt, and head from the figure, and scrapped the torso. I used the DC Universe Classic original green lantern upper body, and Jonah Hex legs. Did a little sculpting on the neck and chest area. I swapped out all the parts, and made a custom torso adapter to attach the two halves using two bearings. I repainted the parts using model masters paints, black base with a light blue dry brushing. I used gold bare-metal foil on the helmet, badge, and belt-buckle. Finally I used a real chain from the neck to the badge. The result is a taller, bulkier, more bad-a@@ looking Judge Dredd that will look great next to the other figures in my collection. I was also able to keep all the articulation without it looking dumb like some of the other marvel legends type figure. ![[Marvel Select Thor Movie Beta Ray Bill] I have always thought Beta Ray Bill was a cool looking character, and I saw a few customs on here and got inspired to do my own version of him. I got some inspiration form the izzyblack custom and just ran with it. I had a loose Marvel select Thor movie figure, with a broken foot, and a couple of dcuc Skallox heads. I did a gold dry brush on his arms, with a black wash to bring out the detail in the armor. I painted the red parts of the figure blue since Bills original colors were blue and gold. I then added gold bare metal foil to the disks, the center of his chest, and to the knee pad area. This really, really stands out and looks great! I painted some of the armor pieces, and the belt gold. I had a DCD Armory Aquaman figure and took the hands and shoulder pads from him. These were great because they were didn't need to be painted gold, and the hands were armored. I was going to sculpt a custom helmet for him, then I got to looking at the Aquaman helmet.....I cut off the horns from](userimages/customs/40000/39702-1.jpg) Marvel Select Thor Movie Beta Ray Bill Marvel Selectby category5customsI have always thought Beta Ray Bill was a cool looking character, and I saw a few customs on here and got inspired to do my own version of him. They don't have as much articulation, and they are kind of plain. It started out as the DCUC Red Lantern Skallox figure. To get rid of the armor on the arms and legs I swapped them out for the Medphyll arms and legs. I had an extra Black lantern Hal head, to give him that extra "rage" look. Did the swaps, and then just repainted him. I cut the red ring off of the Skallox hand, and added it to the left hand of the figure. I feel this little detail is often overlooked. So he has both the green and red rings. Really simple, but I am happy with the results. I'm going to do all the different color Hal Jordans, and next will be the orange one!](userimages/customs/38500/38315-1.jpg) Red Lantern Hal Jordan Green Lanternby category5customsThis has been done before but I wanted one for myself, and I didn't want to pay the crazy prices for the DC Direct comic con version. Simply swapped out a Dcu Aquaman head with the original helmet head. I thought he looked just like Jean-Paul Valley. Simple as they they come, but I think it was effective. But a lot of fun, and something cool for my display case. I had a few extra DCU Medphyll/ Naut Kei Loi figures around. I also had some extra Boondock saints heads around. I have the heads without the sunglasses on the figures on display. Sooooo, all I did was stick them on the bodies. No heat or modifications at all. Just stuck them on. So there you have it. They took all of about 15 seconds for both of them. ![[Superboy Prime Sinestro Corps] This started out as a wave 20 Sinestro figure, and a Dc direct Superboy prime figure.
I didn't care for either figure. I really like the costume from the Sinestro corps war series that Superboy prime had. Ive seen other customs of this figure and thought they were good, but just missing a few things. Some the wrong colors, or too big. The superboy prime was a smaller character. So I went with the new Sinestro figure. So I shaved down the neck on Sinestro. Got rid of that stupid collar thing, and painted it to match the dc direct head. I swapped out the lower torso(the Sinestro one was too tall), and biceps with a dcu toyman figure. I used the Dc direct arms, legs, and armor. The cape came from the Dcu Jemm figure painted black. The tubes were a rubber bracelet. All in all he turned out great. It now is a cooler costume then before and with a lot more articulation.I still have to add the extra logos to his shoulder pads and he will be 100% done. I'm a big Shadowhawk fan, and I wanted to do this odd character for a little while. I was also trying to figure out what to do with the Toyman figure. The character is made from an old book. So I painted the Toyman figure brown quickly and covered him with bits and strips of weathered brown paper. then painted the paper a little bit. He always looks different in the comics so he was kinda easy. I just didn't want him to look like a mummy.](userimages/customs/38000/37949-1.jpg) Tome |
