![[Polaris] When the DCD Harbinger figure came out years ago I thought the head would make a good Polaris, what with the helmet having a resemblance to Magneto's and Polaris having magnetic powers and all. I sat on the idea all that time because I didn't really want to tackle making Polaris. Making her would require me to make Havok as well and I didn't feel like tackling both at the same time. Good thing too because I don't think there were much in terms of good female figs to fodder back then. After acquiring a Skrull Elektra I started to think about making Polaris. Still took me a couple of years before I actually did it.](userimages/customs/43000/42599-1.jpg) Polaris Marvel Legendsby GrownNerdWhen the DCD Harbinger figure came out years ago I thought the head would make a good Polaris, what with the helmet having a resemblance to Magneto's ...11 comments | ![[Havok] Too bad the camera didn't really pick up the painted glow effect very well. This is a majorly reworked piece from one I did years ago which looked crappy by today's standards. Sort of fun to put together. The SOTA Street Fighter boots give her great stability and she's much easier to pose than other female figures with the same amount of POA but with high heels or terrible foot engineering.
A lot of different parts from the fodder bin.

![[Sasquatch] Another figure I finished back in 2006. I always pair this guy up with my Puck custom because at the time I thought it would be fun to tackle them both at once, a really small guy and a really big hairy one. They both presented problems for articulation in different ways. With this guy, the draping fur around the neck, shoulder, and hips were a challenge I wanted to tackle and see if I could get the articulation to function with. I managed to do so but it's pretty tricky getting his legs into action poses, mostly because of the 45 degree pinned hip joints from the Icons Wolverine. That would have been less problematic if it weren't for them having to be put under the semi-flexible crotch fur, which made it hard to see what you're doing and harder to orient the hip ball in the right direction.](userimages/customs/42000/41579-1.jpg) Sasquatch Marvel Legendsby GrownNerdAnother figure I finished back in 2006. I had no interest in the character back when I made him, but was fascinated by the challenge of making a small a Puck as I could while retaining all the ML articulation of the ToyBiz days. A pain in the butt to incrementally file down body parts little by little for kitbashing and modify joints so their internal structures can be contained in the shortened spaces. Even when I figured I could only take out 1/16" somewhere, I went ahead and did it because a bit here and there all added up. He became a pretty fun little toy when finished and I always got a kick out of picking him up now and then to repose into a different position.](userimages/customs/42000/41578-1.jpg) Puck Marvel Legendsby GrownNerdThis was an older custom that I made back in 2006 that I recently gave a bit of paint update to, mostly putting the big P on his costume whereas I had...13 comments |
![[Juggernaut] I mashed together an ML6 Juggy with a Marvel Select Avengers Hulk. This guy has got pretty good joint ranges for his size. His helmet is removable due to transferring Juggy's head, traps, and helmet harness over to the MS Av. Hulk. I thought about transferring just the helmet harness thing and the head and keeping the Hulk's neck/traps intact, but the harness wouldn't have fit right and the head would sit too tall for the helmet to be put on. It was easier to cut out and inset everything involved in the Jugs helmet/head assembly than it would have been to try to modify the Hulk's parts for the harness to fit correctly.](userimages/customs/41500/41109-1.jpg) Juggernaut Marvel Legendsby GrownNerdI mashed together an ML6 Juggy with a Marvel Select Avengers Hulk.
