![[Harley & Marlboro] These babies were a long time in the making. I grew up loving this wonderful, underrated film, and have always dreamed of a set of action figures and a sequel. Since the sequel is 99.9999% improbable, I opted on making the figures. They've been on the "back burner" for a little over a year now, as I gradually gathered parts. At one point I ran out of money, before Harley even got his head. Recently I got my funding again, and decided to finish them off. Harley's jacket has every patch seen in the film, and since there is no viable Mickey Rourke headsculpt in existence---I used a Bruce Willis head and gave him some spikey hair. Don Johnson's head is actually a Donald Sutherland head from "Kelley's Heroes". By far the most expensive part was Harley's pants, which I had to buy overseas. I'm truly ashamed at what I had to pay for these, and then being forced to paint the stripes after shelling out such $$ was sheer terror. I have to say my favorite addition to](userimages/customs/1500/1145-1.jpg) Harley & Marlboro | ![[Seth Gecko] Sorry the picutres didn't come out as well as I'd hoped---but I kept getting a blasted glare!](userimages/customs/1500/1142-1.jpg) Seth Gecko |
![[Scarecrow (Movie Ver.)] I originally tried actual sackcloth for the mask, but it looked terrible. I sculpted the final mask with epoxy and added several layers of brown, orange and tan paint. The gas cartridge belt was made with some 1/6 smoke grenades I had laying around. ![[Indiana Jones with Arabian Horse] Needless to say I won't, nor can I afford to pay $900-$1000 for the Toys McCoy interpretation of this duo, so I made my own. The problem is, though advertised as a 12" figure, he's actually closer to 10", and very small in stature. So I found another good headsculpt of Bruce, a dragon body, and although it may not look like it, set out on maticulously painting his "battle damage". ![[The Road Warrior] This was a mother to make. I saw one last year, fell in love, and watched as it went for $290---WAY outta my price range. Nothing I could do but make my own. Regardless, all of the parts ended up costing a pretty penny, and he has taken a good part of a year to make. So many of his parts were nearly impossible to find, so I would just put him on the back burner until I stumbled across something. Just recently I found the wrench, which was the final touch. ![[Captain Willard] This was a dream figure of mine. I've loved this movie since I was a youngling...and that could explain what went wrong in my developmental stages. The dossier photo of Marlon Brando is actually from the movie, and the envelope is actually full of snapshots from the film that I painstakingly took with my DVD player paused and getting the lighting just right. I laminated the photos with packing tape. Willard's patches are correct, even down to his name plaque. I learned this after years of frustration over not being rich enough to buy a "Toys McCoy Indy". Go buy a "Relic Hunter", stip the clothes off and sell the horrible, naked body. (Someone will buy it). Take a dragon body, stick a good headsculpt of Harrison Ford on it, and voila! I wanted to make a Temple of Doom version b/c oddly enough, I've never seen a good one before.
