As a part of the Batman Rogues Gallery, I had to get Deadshot, even though I thought his costume looked fairly cheesy for such an awesome concept. I saw pics here and there of how much more awesome he looks with a trench coat. ![[Sewer Lair] I actually finished this months ago. I found it for really cheap on a website and it's actually what has gotten my interest back into the Turtles. I thought the playset was AWESOME. But the color scheme was not very sewer-esque. I pretty much covered every inch of every section in black and then drybrushed all the detailing. (Insignia red over black for bricks, medium grey over black for concrete/marble.) I think its a vast improvement. I decided that the center circular floor is the workout/training area so I left it all black to stand out, like a padded floor. The kanji in the center circle means family. I thought this was appropriate since that seems to be the core of Master Splinter's teachings. Unfortunately, the set was missing a couple of things, I.e. the floor above the subway car and the door/weapons rack. For these I measured, cut, and painted the pieces to fit. I also added weapons to the door/weapons rack with twist ties. Raph's face may not have resembled the movie version much as is, but had some pupils and freckling, and the resemblance is pretty darn close. Again, dry-brushed the shell in it's appropriate browns and golden browns. But I really hated his sais. Too bulky and when tucked into his belt, he couldn't even put his arms down. I gave him the sais from the Elektra/Ronin 2-pack. Then I took a dremel point and drilled a hole in between the fingers of each hand so he can hold the sais the way he's supposed to. ![[Leonardo] I've recently returned to a childhood love. And even better, this time, I've gotten my kids into it. Yes, friends, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are making ANOTHER comeback. I really like the 2003 line, but I've always prefered the more realistic look of the movies. So that's what we're blending here.
I started with Leonardo. I wanted the posability that the Fightin' Gear turtles provided, but thought the regular Leo head looked more movie style. Had to dremel it to fit. I also changed out the hands so that the finger articulation wouldn't keep dropping his swords. After that, it was pretty much minor paint application. I dry-brushed the shell in brown and gave the shell sides a golden brown to match the front. Gave him pupils (which I am very proud of how they turned out.) The Buffy figures Diamond Select produced were supposed to be a continuation of the original Moore Action Buffy line. But, with new and improved sculpting, the old figures just don't look right next to the new ones. And since DSC discontinued the line before releasing they're updated Dru, I needed to make one that looked decent next to my Deluxe Spike. This is the result.
It's basically just a Vampire Buffy head on a "Once More With Feeling" Dawn body. I painted all the skin on face, neck and arms to match in paleness and covered up the blonde hair with some "artificial intelligence." (jk) I thought Dawn's gown really resembled the virginal looking baby-doll gown from Dru's first appearance. But, GOD, it took a lot of coats of white to finish it. I'd seen a few people on here use a ml bearded sentry head, but, even with gray hair, he still looked too young and stoic. I wanted to find a head that captured that grizzled old man appearance. I picked out a balrog battle gandolf and dremmeled the beard way down. The neck and arms came from a tna sharkboy. The hands didn't hold the shotgun too well, so I put one tiny magnet in his hand and another in the stock of the gun. He still just has old school basic articulation in the hips and knees, but I cut off the old boots and, using screws for pegs, gave him some more articulated boots from a tna christian. If you have a ML Blade, you know that not only is the plastic in the arms brittle enough to rip if you push it a little too hard in the wrong direction, but you also realize that ToyBiz did this funky thing in the shoulder joint which allows the ball joint to click into place at three specific spots. Kind of limiting, right?
I really like the look of the skin tight, long sleeve shirt from Blade Trinity. I didn't want to paint the arms because I like to pose my figures a lot and hate the chipped paint. The Spiderman Classics Daredevil had the perfect arms for what I wanted to do, except that the pegs are entirely too small to fit securely in Blade's torso.
So, taking a que from the tutorial, I removed the pegs and replaced them with screws. Now I realize that my first Abby submission was hardly more than clever accessorizing and a little paint on the arms. So, I decided to go all out the second time around. But the other two details are what I am most proud of.

![[Blade (Extended Edition)] So I've made a few minor modifications to my Blade custom. First, I'd had the idea to put the red lining from an X1 Magneto cape into Blade's coat for some time. However, my buddy, CrimsonVampyre, beat me to the punch because, unlike myself, he knows how to sew. But the major change here that makes the difference are the hands. I got really annoyed with the finger joints because, while they are great from posing, they are lousy for actually holding things. For someone who uses a sword, I went old school. Like Middle Earth. I lobbed off the Daywalkers hands at the wrist joints and glued the hands from a Boromir figure in their place. You lose the finger and wrist hinge articulation, but he WILL NOT drop this sword. Plus, you can do some awesome poses with this hand since it holds the sword facing out. As usual, if ToyBiz would just make figures from everything, we would live in a perfect world. So, breaking away from my strictly Marvel Movie customs, I decided to embark on the first of what I would like to eventually create, and entire line of Underworld figures in ML style. Our leading lady is a Wasp body with the head and boots of an X-23. I trimmed up the hair and painted the entire body in Testors glossy black.
