He lost his love, Lois Lane, and saw what it would take to truly keep the world safe. After meeting several like-minded super powered beings, he formed the Justice Lords to help survey the Earth and keep it clear of any and all criminal activity. He took off Jor-El’s red and blue uniform, and instead donned one that’s black and white, to match his new view on justice. There are no gray areas with this new Justice Lord Superman.”
I really love the new suit in the upcoming Man of Steel movie, so I got it in my head that it would be cool to try out different design concepts. One of the most popular, and one that I too happen to love, is the Justice Lords costume from the episode “A Better World” from the Justice League cartoon. Since the costume is all black, I used the arms and lower body from the Movie Masters General Zod figure, and the torso, head, and cape from Superman. Stll, I couldn’t help but wonder what it would look like a little more classically inspired. So I took the newly released Man of Steel Movie Masters Superman figure and gave him a full repaint that’s inspired by his classic look. I made the reds and blues much more vibrant, and even gave him back his trunks! It has an intricate paint job with lots of washes and dry brushes of various pigments to help really bring out every detail in the suit. I made sure, for the yellow in his emblem and belt, to use two different gold hues to bring out a vibrant metallic look. I also sculpted a little spit curl coming down from his hair, to really drive home the classic Superman vibe I was going for. I also made it so Superman can actually look up now! ![[Eddie Brock Venom (Super Posable)] The recent Marvel Select Venom figure seems very popular amongst collectors, but I just couldn’t help but look at it and see room for improvement, so that’s what I did. Before, the Venom figure couldn’t move very much. Almost no ab crunch, very limited head movement, not to mention single knee joints and absolutely no rocker ankles. It was sad, really. So I heated him up and popped him apart. Thankfully, Venom is almost completely soft plastic, so he pops apart pretty easily. I took my dremel and shaved some plastic away around the ball joint in his neck and in his torso, allowing for a much wider range of motion.
Then, I spliced the lower legs (from the knee down) of a Spider-Man Classics Venom (the one with the rubbery head) onto the new figure. It required some work though. Since the Venom figure only had single knees to begin with, that meant his knee was sculpted onto the upper leg, so I had to shave that down, and in fact cut maybe 1/4″ from the lower par](userimages/customs/48000/47713-1.jpg) Eddie Brock Venom (Super Posable) | ![[Bruce Wayne (Arkham City Style)] I’m a huge fan of the Batman: Arkham City video game and want figures of as many characters as possible. In the game, we got to see Bruce Wayne, sans the Batman costume. DC Collectibles gave us a Batman figure with an unmasked Bruce Wayne head, but his face was painted to look infected, just like in the game. So I used the head from that figure, and the body of a Mattel WWE Michael Cole Collect & Connect figure. I chose that body, because not only was he wearing a suit, it was the perfect height and build that really resembled how Bruce looked in the game, and was bulky enough that you could tell he had the body of Batman under that suit. So I repainted the shirt white, and the tie blue to match the game. I had to completely repaint the head to cover the painted on veins, and repainted the neck and hands to match the new face flesh tone. I sculpted the bowtie on him, and painted it dark gray. I painted his jacket lapel gloss black, and even painted over the rosy nose DC Direct had painted on the Alfred head before for some reason, to blend it in with his normal flesh tone. I also had to mix a custom flesh tone for the neck to match the face. His serving tray comes from a Buffy the Vampire Slayer Cordelia figure, and the shotgun comes from a NECA S-Mart Ash figure that I modified. I chose Dr. Impossible’s head, because his eyes already had the sort of Venom shaped eyes sculpted into it. I just had to sculpt over his nose and mouth and paint it all, so that part was easy. I added the splotchy black dots in the center of his torso on both sides, and painted the black lines that circle it all over his body.
