![[Zero] Hey guys!
This is another character I'm not really familiar with. I discovered him while flipping through the Official Marvel Handbook and thought he looked like he'd be pretty fun and easy to make. He's apparently an X-Men character and an agent of something called the Mutant Liberation Front, or MLF, which is an unfortunate title when you pronounce the letters. Oh well.
As you might expect, Zero was pretty simple to make. I used a DCUC Power Ring from Crime Syndicate 5-pack as a base figure. I sliced off the power-ringed hand and replaced it with the fist from the DCUC 16 Riddler. The head was sanded down and sculpted over. I had originally painted this guy solid white, but it just looked look boring. I tried out a few washes of light grey and dry-brushes of diluted silver over it. I don't know, I'm not really sure I like it or not. Ah, well. I painted the "zeroes" on the chest and face by hand.
In the end, I don't love this custom, but he was a good exercise in both pr](userimages/customs/37500/37381-1.jpg) Zero Marvel Legendsby evanjones1Hey guys!

I'll admit it-- I know nothing about this character, other than she's Canadian and that this apparently isn't her most well-known costume. I found some pics of her on the web and thought she looked liked she'd be fun to make... She sort of was.
Aurora's made from a DCUC Superwoman from the Crime Syndicate box set. I removed the cape and did a lot of minor surface work to get rid of all the excess details and blended the hands of the infamous X3 Jean Grey figure into her forearms. The little mini-straps on the forearms are cut rubber bands. I drilled a small hole in the figure's back to accommodate a ML flight stand, since apparently Aurora flies around a lot. After that I painted the whole figure by hand, including the maple leaf, which... wasn't easy.
While this isn't my favorite custom I've done, it was certainly a good exercise in precision painting, which is good. What do you all think?

![[8-Ball] Ah, 8-Ball... What can you say about this guy that hasn't already been said? He's got an 8-ball for a head! Who can't love this character?!?!
Anyway, I made this figure from a DCUC Riddler (Series 16) with the hands from a HML Punisher attached and blended into the forearms. I tore out the belt and filled in the stomach with epoxie putty. The head is just a ping-pong ball with a hole cut in it to accommodate the neck. After that, the whole thing was painted by hand (including the "face.") I used Testor's Dullcoat to seal the body and Testor's Glosscoat to seal the head. I love the results-- the varnish on the head is beautiful!
I'd been working on 8-Ball's pool cue rifle with a removable blast but it just wasn't happening. I'm still happy with him, though. He looks about as nice as I could have imagined. What I really wish now is that he'd be the villain in a movie so Hasbro could make life-sized, talking replicas of his helmet I could wear around the house! Oh yeah!

This is my second A-Bomb custom. The first was made using the Marvel Legends Abomination, while this one used the Marvel Select version. I personally think it makes for a much better A-Bomb. The custom itself was simple. The only surface work was trimming the ears. After that it was a simple paint job.
I know it's not my most dramatic custom, nor is it 100% character-accurate, but I like it. He's got a nice presence on the shelf and has a wicked shine in person! Created by injecting the T-Virus into a frog, the Lurker was deemed a failure by Umbrella due to its inability to comprehend and follow orders. The creature has grown several times its normal size and has been rendered blind by calluses covering its eyes. It makes up for this disability by using its tongue, with which it ensnares its prey, drawing them into its mouth and swallowing them whole. The Lurkers were encountered by S.T.A.R.S. member Rebecca Chambers and Billy Coen at the abandoned Umbrella Training Facility in the Arklay Mountains, where the creatures had been left to roam free. Several were seen again in the sewers beneath Raccoon City once the town became infected.

![[Hink the Zombie Cat] Hey!
This one needs a bit of an introduction. My family and I have a cat named Milo, whom we took in off of the street. He's fat, happy, and only has three feet. True story. I thought that he, with his disability, would work really well as a creature in the RE universe. It took only a little imagination to turn Milo into Hink the Zombie Cat!
I started with a Papo cat. As with all of my zombified animals, I sanded in the gore with my dremel, then set it with Krazy Glue. I removed the back left foot, drilled out the leg, and inserted a carved paint brush handle for the protruding bone stub. The rest was paint.

As such, when it came time to paint, I coated her paws and muzzle with extra coats of thick, shiny red paint. This girl could mess you up.

It's nice that Mattel is offering a Scarecrow in his suit, but it just doesn't seem worth the $15 price tag. I had a spare Gotham City Thug and an extra Scarecrow head and thought I might as well make my own for free. :)
The clenched hand is from a SOTA Street Fighter figure, (Remy, I think?) while the spraying one is from a "Star Wars: Unleashed" Count Dooku. I modded the jacket to look loosely-buttoned.
Once the figure was painted, I gave him multiple coats of chalky acrylic paint so he'd look like he'd been in his drug lab all day. Note the extra white around the cuff of his "shooting hand."
All in all, I'm very happy with this piece. He's not too exciting, (kind of like the character) but the new hands and unique job paint set him apart from the other figs on the shelf.
