![[Griffin] This custom has been MONTHS in the making. The head was sculpted for me by Deadeye and he did an amazing job, I must say!! The body is a ML Blackheart. Originally I had put ML4 Beast's lower legs on this, but I didn't like how they looked. They were waaaay too bulky, so I spent a long time trying to find the proper "cat-like" legs. While browsing e-bay one day I discovered the "Realm of the Cat" series by Stan Winston. I had never seen these figures before in Canada, but it looked like the legs were just what I was looking for. So I started asking fellow collectors if they had any to trade, but alas, apparently these figures weren't that collectible. Probably why the line is now defunct! So I ended up getting one off a website. In order to keep my figures height roughly to scale, I cut the lower legs of the Claw figure off just below the knee joint. I then drilled holes for the horizontal knee pin to go in and then made vertical cuts in the top of the knee to create](userimages/customs/6500/6227-1.jpg) Griffin Marvel Legendsby princebrentThis custom has been MONTHS in the making. The base is a Psylocke and the head is from the DCD Secret Identity Batgirl. It had to be drilled out a little bit to fit on that really tall neck peg that Psylocke has, but I think it came out well.
I actually got the inspiration to do this custom after seeing a picture of a bust for this character. The sculptor gave her yellow eyebrows which I really liked so I did it, too. And it helps fill out my Defenders display!
Aside from giving her about three coats of yellow, this was a very simple custom. ![[Dragonfly] The base is a HML Quicksilver with a LCBH Star head that was graciously donated by Buzzy Fret (Thanks!!). The wings are from a Wasp and were probably the hardest parts to gather for this custom. The "tail" was actually the "chain" portion of an anchor from the Rescue Heroes aircraft carrier that I'm using for the S.H.I.E.L.D. heli-carrier. I figured a heli-carrier probably wouldn't need an anchor, so I put it to other uses!
This character is an original idea and design of my own. He is the leader of a group of heroes that call themselves "The Crusaders". Originally he was from Albania because at the time I devised these characters, Albania's flag was purple. It isn't anymore, but I really liked the colour scheme so I kept it anyway.
I have made one of his teammates, Osprey, as well but I used a DCD figure and I'm not happy with the articulation so he will be re-done.](userimages/customs/6500/6171-1.jpg) Dragonfly Originalby princebrentThe base is a HML Quicksilver with a LCBH Star head that was graciously donated by Buzzy Fret (Thanks!!). I wanted her to be a taller female to help distinguish her "imposing" presence. I added a DC Direct Hush Huntress head (which wasn't as easy as I thought it would be). Then I used the silver base/clear yellow paint scheme to give her a luminescent look.
When I unpacked her after my move, I discovered that one of the tips of her mask had broken off. I glued it back on, but you can still see the break line :(
On the whole, though, I am really pleased with the way she turned out.](userimages/customs/5000/4567-1.jpg) Moonstone Marvel Legendsby princebrentAnother Thunderbolts custom. I loved the cover of New Thunderbolts #1 and wanted to re-create that version of this guy, but finding the right pieces was difficult, especially the proper base figure. While digging through my fodder box I found Ant-man from the Avengers Animated line and I thought, his helmet would be PERFECT!! So I pulled him out and much to my surprise his limbs extended!! I had this figure for years and never knew that! So by extending his limbs and then using sculpey to fill the gaps in, I now had a 6" tall base figure! The helmet was dremelled down smoother and the wings were added. They came from some Robin figure from the Batman movies I believe. They fold back to give the impression he has powered down. I wanted something that actually folded down and would have some sort of spring action to pop them up into place, but I couldn't find anything like that, so I settled on these. ![[Swordsman] This is my version of Swordsman from the Thunderbolts. The base figure is an X-men Classics Ninja Wolverine with a Punisher head. The belt/scabbard came from a Lord of the Rings character as did the sword attached on his back. The helmet came from a movie Magneto with a piece of a clamshell for the visor and then Milliput to hold it in place. Having the helmet removable was important to me. This figure was a tough one to "figure" out -- pun intended :) It started off as just a re-paint of the Gen 13 figure (don't remember her name -- Fairchild I think) but I didn't like her limited articulation. Joystick needed to be able to leap around knocking people silly. Then I came across the Street Fighter Cammy and thought, that's a perfect upper body, but what about the head and legs??? Well, I lopped off Fairchild's head, cut off some hair and sculpted a little underneath, and drilled it out so it would fit onto Cammy's neck peg. But now what was I going to do about those legs? I rummaged through my fodder bin looking for some female legs that I could use. No luck. Then I expanded my search and just looked for legs and then I found them....and Mr. Fantastic will never be the same :) His legs look much better on Cammy than Cammy's do on him let me tell you! I then drilled holes into Cammy's closed fists so she could hold her batons](userimages/customs/4500/4102-1.jpg) Joystick Marvel Legendsby princebrentBecause Punstarr requested her.......

I finally resigned myself to starting on the custom and after some "head input" from Buzzy Fret I went searching for a different head. I found this one in my fodder box and I'll let you folks try and guess what figure it came from. The head had to be modified to fit on the Mystique neck. It's original neck was carved away and the peg hole was drilled a little deeper. The skulls on Mystique's skirt were carefully cut off. All went well until I began trimming the excess and sliced my forefinger open :( The necklace and the boottops were scuplted with Sculpey.
After I took the close up shot of her head I realized a big chunk of paint came off the neck. DOH!!

![[Ocean Master] This is Aquaman's arch enemy and half-brother, Orm the Ocean Master. He was made from a Ninja Batman from Mattel's first attempts at Batman. The articulation is minimal (no elbow joint) but I thought the look of the figure caught Orm's character. The head is the alternate Deadpool head with a beard sculpted on it. I just loved the grin on his face. I thought it made the character look a little insane. After all, aren't most villains a little wacko?? The helmet was made from some old Toybiz figures helmet (I can't remember which one) with the wings from one of Batman's gloves used for the pointy top. I also sculted the bottom edges of the helmet to give the front a little pointy look but that's hard to see in the pictures. The cape came from a Shadow figure and I scoured my Hobby shop trying to find a blue to match it! The "spear" was made from an old Aquaman trident. This Deathstroke was fairly easy to make. I used a ML 10 Cyclops for the base since he already had a nice dark blue costume and added a movie Daredevil head. The gun and sword are from the DC Direct Deathstroke. The belt is from an old Mego-like army figure. ![[Guardian] I wanted my Guardian to be somewhat imposing when facing off against the bad guys, so I used a DC Direct Eradicator figure. I liked the fact that he already had the lines down his body to help define Guardians red and white costume. Sanding off the big "S" was a chore though, and then I had to resculpt his abs slightly and fill in the gaps on his back where the cape was pealed off. His head was from a Hush Batman. I liked the grim demeanour on this face that Guardian was often depicted with. The paint didn't seal well as I look at it now. I can see some rub marks where the black is showing through. I started with Megos making custom costumes and just kept going. I have never posted customs on line before because I have been worried about criticism but then I met Buzzy_Fret on another site who recommended coming here. I know I'm not the greatest customizer out there, but I make these for me only. I don't like "washes" on the paint jobs, so it will be rare that you will see any on my customs. Generally, since I'm lazy, by the time I get to painting a figure I just want it done! So I would say that painting is one of my worst skills. Anyway, Citizen V is one of my personal favourites.
