![[DCUC Batman] I'm really proud of this one and it's one of my favorites already. Recipe is DCUC Dynamic Duo 2-pack body, DCD Superman/Batman cape, and DCD Hush head and belt. It was a simple recipe and idea at first, but I ran into a few obstacles during the execution. For starters the cape wasn't straight black, so I had to paint-match that as best I could for the cowl. Second, imagine my surprise when I found out that the body for the DCD Hush bats was solid. I had to hollow out all the body portion until I was just left with the belt. In the end I was really happy with how it turned out. Hope you all likes.](userimages/customs/33000/32721-1.jpg) DCUC Batman DC Universeby NeoZeRo35I'm really proud of this one and it's one of my favorites already. Instead of just doing the bandanas like I've seen everywhere else, I also wanted the turltes to have they're origanal Playmates toy colors. Leonardo and Michelangelo were done first and second. Donatello's skin was the most difficult for me to color match, but I think I got pretty close in the end. Raphael is just Raphael out of the box. Even after sealing them, I'm getting a few paint chips in one or two joints and I'm getting tired of repainting it over and over. This was my first time using Tamiya acrylics, and I must say that I really love how smooth the paint goes on. ![[Invisible Woman] The only thing difficult about this mod was trying to remove those costume lines on her upper body and upper arms, as well as that belt line. I decide to fill them in with super glue then sand it down once it was dry. I sculpted a circle on her chest, painted her black, drybrushed blue and that was it. An Invisible Woman that matched more with the team. I think Hasbro made the shinney glare things in her eyes too big/obvious. I may have to remove those later. ![[Gorgon] Another Inhuman custom and this time it’s Gorgon (3 down, 3 to go). I used a Hasbro ML Hercules as the base. The toughest part had to be cutting off all those straps on his legs and manually sanding it down (still too poor for Dremel). I also had to cut those straps that were covering his ears so that I could sculpt some ears to begin with. The WIP picture shows what I had to sculpt, and the rest is just paint job. ![[Human Torch (Johnny Storm) v.2] Let’s face it. Unless you set a figure on fire, it’s hard to get a convincing Human Torch. I basically used Bullseye's body with Captain America's head which had wings and ears that needed to be cut and sanded off. The gloves are sculpted and the tuning fork is a cut-out from the leftover of Bullseye's white neck collar thing. I think it's a little big, but at least it's there. I actually had this figure done about two weeks ago, but couldn't figure out for the life of me how to add wings, and I didn't want to post him untill he was perfect. I came across a thin piece of foam last night which I painted and cut out and was able to glue onto his sides and arms. I tried to put a blue wash over him but maybe my base coat was too dark. However, I didn't realize untill I took a picture with the flash on that it's there, just really dark. ![[Fantastic Four] Here is my custom Fantastic Four made from the box set plus Classic Series 2 Thing. I liked this sculpt better than the Marvel Legends. The ML version just isn’t bulky enough for me. Plus it’s dead-on with Wieringo’s pencil work. I made this set to resemble Mark Waid’s run. This is my first attempt at customizing, so be easy on me (first time taking a figure apart, first attempt at wash, first attempt at dry brushing, etc.). Here’s the breakdown for each character.
Reed (originally in Jim Lee attire): added protruding circle on chest, repaint body including black wash
Sue (originally in Jim Lee attire): same as Reed
Johnny (originally from box set): added protruding circle on chest, sculpted additional flames on upper arms and thighs, extended flames lower leg, repaint body including wash and dry brushing
