In the GL comics, Honnu is one of the last Lanterns to stand up to Hal Jordan when he went nuts as Parallax. Left for dead, Honnu and several other GL's were in fact being held in stasis on the Manhunter home world. The rescue of Honnu and the other abandoned GL's was lead by none other than Hal Jordan (sans Parallax). Anyhoo, Honnu and the other Lanterns are now back to kicking bum in the DCU! Unfortunately, based on the pics I've seen from DC Direct's latest GL Series 3, it's gonna stand a Sinestro's chance on Oa that we'll ever see an actual Green Lantern figure in the Green Lantern series of figures.
Figuring that DC Direct is never gonna get around to it, I'm taking matters into my own hands and customizing my own versions of "The Lost" GL's. Honnu is made from the Thing figure from the first FF movie that I used as a base figure. It was perfect for this figure. No sculpting! To fill the void in my X-Men collection, I decided to make my own Warstar figure. As per the comic books, Warstar is a symbiotic pair of androids w/ artificial intelligence. The smaller of the two, B'nee, connects to the larger C'cil by a socket in C'cil's back. During battle, B'nee can separate from C'cil to fight. I used Mecha-Hulk as the base for C'cil. Funny thing about the Mecha-Hulk figure: besides being green (like Warstar) and being a huge robot (like C'cil), it already has a compartment in its back to hold this little gremlin-type figure. After evicting the ugly gremlin guy, I expanded this compartment using my trusty Dremel, and I cut a hole in the top of the hatch. Into the resulting socket I was able to fit a 3 3/4" Gi Joe Overlord figure. This GI Joe figure works like a dream for B'nee; not only b/c of its smaller](userimages/customs/4000/3616-1.jpg) Warstar Incredible Hulkby COLOSSUSHasblo will probably get around to releasing some figures of the X-Men's perennial pains-in-the-butt, the Sh'iar Imperial Guard, around the 16th of NE...8 comments | ![[Wendigo] I based my version of Wendigo on John Byrne's art in Uncanny X-Men. Using Sasquatch as a base, I swapped off his head, forearms and hands, and feet for those from ML Beast. I added a tail from ML Nightcrawler. I dremeled down Beast's hair and added ML Storm's hair to fill out his 'do on the back of his head. I used Apoxie Sculpt to blend the hair and to smooth the transition between the forearm and elbow joints. I thought the base color of the Sasquatch had too much blue, so I used white pigment to lighten the figure. I used light grey paint to make the hair more of a contrast.](userimages/customs/4000/3615-1.jpg) Wendigo Marvel Legendsby COLOSSUSI based my version of Wendigo on John Byrne's art in Uncanny X-Men. The FF Invisible Woman figure was perfect for this figure. I used a head from an Aspen figure from Moore's Fathom line. Some Dremeling needed done to give the original noggin a haircut and also a wider opening for the head to fit onto the neck. Some Apoxie Sculpt for the bangs and neckline, and the figure was ready for paint. GL label came from a printer. The tattoo on her left cheek was cut from electricians tape.](userimages/customs/3500/3430-1.jpg) Soranik Natu Marvel Legendsby COLOSSUSThis is Soranik Natu from the GL Corps comic book series.
