![[Arkham Asylum BANE] Ever since I first saw the Bane trailer from Arkham Asylum back in the spring I knew I had to do a custom of it. I just didn't have any idea it would take me this long to complete it. After finally settling on a Scorpion/Venom upper body and Neca Streetfighter Ken legs, and the new Juggernaut head. I went to work creating the rest of the figure. The hands came from a Savage Dragon figure. The back pack was made up of a ML2 Nick Fury rocket pack and various other fodder pieces, some of which kind of look like old GI Joe packs, but I'm not sure. I sculpted the mask, neck harnass, the wrist and ankle shackles as well as part of the belt. I sculpted skin around the back pack to make it look like it was roughly surgically attached to his body rather than just being strapped to him. I don't have the game yet, but from what I can tell, the Joker is the one that set up Bane like this so it just seemed to be more Joker-ish to have the back pack attached to him. And now I finally finished it. OK, used the Superpatriot base figure. The alternate, unmasked head. Dipped half the head into Plasti-Dip a couple of times. Then cut out around the eyes and shredded the edges. Drilled the bullet holes making sure not to go all the way through. I just wanted an indentation. Went to town with various dremel accessories to do the battle damage. Deep cuts and gouges, more bullet holes and just used the sanding wheel in various places. I sculpted the tiny torn shirt areas using fixit (which was a pain because they're so small I could only sculpt a few at a time without messing them up) The hands were from a ML Heroes reborn Ironman figure pegged into Superpatriot's forearms. They bend, but don't rotate, but the forearm still spins. ![[Deadpool- Movie version (sort of...)] Yet another Deadpool. This one is loosely based on Deadpool from the Wolverine movie. I say "loosely" based because for one of the alternate heads I used the ML 2 pack Capt. America unmasked head. And I thought it looked a little like Ryan Reynolds. So there's the big connection. OK, the base is a Spiderman 3 New Goblin body. I was originally going to use this for a Sam Fisher custom. And then a Snake Eyes custom. But since there's so many Snake Eyes customs out there and not nearly enough Deadpools, I decided to even the odds ;) The first head, as I mentioned was a Capt. America unmasked head. I'm not completely sold on the hair and I may go back and repaint it. The second is the original New Goblin head, repainted with Deadpool's colors. It already fit on the huge ball joint, so I added it for something different. The third head is the masked Ronin head. Again, repainted in Deadpool's colors, but still different from the standard Deadpool mask. I cut the blades](userimages/customs/13500/13021-1.jpg) Deadpool- Movie version (sort of...) After I decided not to use Lex's head, I got to looking at the figure and realized it was a really cool figure. So I took it apart and just repainted it. I cut down his skirt into more of a loin cloth to allow a better range of motion for the legs. I painted the entire thing Testors Gunmetal. Then I drybrushed the entire thing with Testors steel. Went back filled in all the cracks with black using the wash/wipe method. Then I drybrushed the torso armor with Citadel Mithril silver to make it brighter. Used tesotors clear green for the legs, arms, abdomen, and neck area. I mixed testors clear red and clear blue for clear purple and did the boots, hands, belt trim. Then I mixed some clear green with Tamiya clear yellow (I wish testors made a clear yellow) and painted the torso armor. Simple repaint of the head and viola. A newly painted Lex Luthor. ![[Agent 47] Here's Agent 47 from the Hitman video game series. He was made using the TDK Gotham City thug body. I was going to use the DCSH Lex Luthor head, but I thought the DCU Abin Sur head was much more menacing. And it had those "I'm about to kill your a$$" veins on his temples. The tie came from a Dark Knight 5 inch Deathstroke mask.
Now the accessories- The pisols, silencers, M4 machine gun all came from the Neca 7 inch Hitman figure. All are surprisingly in scale with the smaller Thug figure. I couldn't get the M4 to fit into the case, so I cut off the stock and glued a small screw into it so it can be taken apart and put back together. The garrote wire was made with some type of craft string and the handles also came from the Neca Hitman figure, though I can't remember what they were. The knife was from the fodder bin. The sniper rifle came from the True Heroes military 3 3/4 inch figures from Toys R Us. Most of their weapons are also in scale with marvel legends. Used a DCU Black Manta for it's smaller frame and black shoulders to avoid paint rub. The bandolier strap came from some Spawn figure and is removable, the sheath and sword handles came from a TMNT Leonardo. The blades were a welding rod that I cut and shaped on a grinder. The belt came from an Image 10th anniversary Shadowhawk figure. The belt buckle was painted on a thumbtack. The leg strap and holster came from a McFarlane military figure (don't remember which one) The knee pads came from an ML Punisher figure. The wrist and ankle straps were just misc. straps I had laying around. The foot straps came from a Terminator 3 shotgun. The steel toes and glove details were sculpted using Aves Fixit Sculpt. The pistol was from an ML 6 Movie Punisher and the other gun was just one I've had for years, I think it came from an old C.O.P.S. ![[Deadpool Biker] Got the idea for this figure from Shinobitron's 3 3/4 inch version here at Figure Realm. Someone mentioned it would look good in 6 inch scale and I thought "Yeah, it would." I used an ML 7 Ghost Rider with the neck from Cannonball. I had originally gave it a base coat of Krylon Fusion Black, but it remained tacky. So I sealed it with Krylon Satin (hence the shine) and then drybrushed gray on top of the sealer in hopes it would dull the shine a little. I was going to do red leather with black details to match his normal costume color scheme, but visions of Michael Jackson from the Thriller video kept popping into my head. So I went with black leather and red highlights. Pretty sure I made the right choice. The head came from a Spiderman Classics Daredevil. Used fixit sculpt over the mouth. The head only turns left and right though. I had to shorten the neck, and removed too much and now there isn't any room for the head to go up and down. Jimbo was the winner of a create-a-character contest in the early issues of the Savage Dragon comic and appeared in issue #10. He was made using a Deluxe Aggression Shawn Michaels. The claws, suspenders, and head were all sculpted using Fixit sculpt. Again, I can't remember exactly what paints were used, but there was a flesh tone used for the base, followed by a fleshy-reddish-pink wash, followed by a drybrushing of more flesh tones. Afterwards, I wasn't really satisfied with the suspenders, but I'm too lazy to resculpt them. The pants were just painted and washed and drybrushed with various shades of gray. The claws were wrapped with athletic tape that was then covered in superglue and then repainted white and gray. The pipe was just various scrap pieces I had laying on my work table.](userimages/customs/11000/10530-1.jpg) Jimbo Da Mighty Lobster |
![[Savage Dragon] Used a Savage Dragon body, sculpted the shirt details using Fixit Sculpt. Tie came from a WWE Deluxe aggression figure. The belt was cut from a TNA X Champion belt with random pouches added. The legs came from a ML 9 Professor X figure and were a pain to attach. I also didn't take into consideration how big Dragon's torso was in comparison to Professor X's feet, so he's a little wobbly. I just pretend he's drunk ;) I can't remember what exact colors I used (he's been finished for over a month), most were mixed anyways. The skin has a more detailed look than what shows up in the pictures, but my camera just makes him look one shade of green.](userimages/customs/11000/10529-1.jpg) Savage Dragon | ![[Stealth Starscream] First off I'd like to give credit to Ven of Decay Studios customs for the idea and help with the arms. The arms were made by taking the base of Starscreams arm and adding a nail to it. Then sticking the wrist from an ML War Machine onto the other end of the nail. The hands were from an ML Ultron. The rest of the arms were made up of some pieces cut out of styrene, some wires, some screw heads, and some thin aluminum sheets that I found at Hobby Lobby. The arms and the gun attach with magnets. The gun came from a McFarlane Military figure. I removed the gun belt because it looked goofy. I added some extra wires to it though. The paint was gunmetal with silver, red, gold, and copper highlights as well as some scrapes and scrathes with argent silver.](userimages/customs/8000/7893-1.jpg) Stealth Starscream |
![[Superpatriot] Another repaint of Superpatriot, this time in his S.O.S. (Special Operations Strikeforce) duds. Since I'm a fan of figures coming with a crud load of accessories, Superpatriot comes with four interchangeable arms as well as a removable arm cannon. I started out by giving his arms and legs a coat of gunmetal then drybrushing steel and then argent silver. Then adding the different color details to the guns. The right hand came from a Ripclaw figure. The two wrist cannons are from a ML War Machine. The removable arm cannon was from a Kid's Connection set. Also, I sanded down the shoulder pegs a little so the arms would pop off and on easier. I've noticed the plastic the SP figures are made out of is very soft and heating them up makes them like rubber.](userimages/customs/8000/7892-1.jpg) Superpatriot | ![[Stockade] Just a basic "TF silver drybrush and red/gold hightights" repaint of Stockade, one of the few remaining TF figures I have. ![[Transformers Incinerator] Started with a basecoat of black, then drybrushed steel then argent silver for the robot parts. Drybrushed med. green over the rest of the body, about three layers. Gave it a wash of black and wiped away excess in one direction for weathering effects. Black wash made it too dark though, so I drybrushed another layer of med. green. Then I added some gray streaks for even more weathering. The hands (I only pictured one, but there's two) came from a Batman/Superman Shadow Tek 2-pack, the gun game from a Kid's Connection set, the flame throwers were Spiderman 3 Dr. Octopus claws with ML War Machine flames. I'm all out of TF figures now though. OK, taking inspiration from Jin Saotome's blackout, I loaded this guy up with accessories galore. The more accessories/weapons, the better. First, I gave him a basecoat of a blue/gray mixture. Then a wash of that same mixture and black. Then another wash of testors dark gray. Then some weathering effects using testors neutral gray and sullen gray. Silver drybrushing on robotic parts followed up by gold and copper details. The labels came from Reprolabels (they're actually decals, not dry-rub transfers like I thought, so you don't need to seal them.) The mini-gun, shoulder rocket launcher and flames were from ML War Machine. The machine gun came from the fodder bin. Painted the same as the other two ninja-figures- basecoat black, silver robotics, gunship gray for worn/faded look. After just finishing Ninja Wreckage, I decided to to the same for Hardtop. Flat black basecoat, drybrushed silver for robotics, then drybrushed gunship gray for worn/faded metal look. Some extra detailing like red eyes, gold trim. The sword was an ML Blade sword painted orange then drybrshed with yellow.
