![[Tar Monster] Since the Tar Monster has made several appearances in Scooby-Doo media (the original series, a direct-to-video film, the live-action sequel and a couple of video games), I thought he would be an appropriate addition to my custom Scooby collection. Plus, my nephews really wanted me to make this guy.
The base figure (McFarlane's Vandalier) had to have parts removed, be sanded down, plastered over with Fix-It Epoxy Clay, given a flat marble eye and painted with glass black enamel.](userimages/customs/18500/18154-1.jpg) Tar Monster Scooby Dooby bickbenedictSince the Tar Monster has made several appearances in Scooby-Doo media (the original series, a direct-to-video film, the live-action sequel and a coup...5 comments | ![[Indy and Marion - Raiders of the Lost Ark] I was thinking of calling these figures "Bantu Wind" Indy and Marion or "Revelation of the Ark" Indy and Marion.
The "Indy in German Disguise" figure is a basic head swap and repaint. Indy's head didn't sit too well on the German Soldier, so I also switched the ball joints that hold the head as well. I gave him a little scrape over his left brow to try to maintain film accuracy.
"Bantu Wind" Indy was created from KOTCS Indy w/ RPG and Star Wars Anakin w/ tattoos figures. Figure was repainted, then "scraped" up and bandaged.
"Bantu Wind" Marion is composed of Marion's head, neck and hands on AOTC Padme Amidala's body with Maris Brood forearms.](userimages/customs/8500/8056-1.jpg) Indy and Marion - Raiders of the Lost Ark |

Shaggy is a basic repaint of a Diamond Select Toys Military Initiative Xander, with sculpted bangs and earflap hat from the DST Watchers Guide Set.
Velma is made from a DC Direct Lana Lang figure with DST Primeval Buffy legs. Sculpey was used to create her hair, hat, jacket and boots. McFarlane Austin Powers glasses complete her well-known style.
Scooby is a Conversation Concepts Great Dane figurine. Plastic Fantasy's Jenna Jameson personally lent Scooby her Santa hat and I created the scarf from various "notions" from the sewing section of the hobby store.

I thought the expression on the line of DST Xanders was perfect for Shaggy (plus it keeps with the group cohesion by using another Buffy figure). I removed the hat and shirt from the Ice Cream Xander figure, used sculpey to untuck and lengthen his shirt as well has give him longer hair and a goatee. The paint I used on the clothes of all the figures in the group was generally Model Masters enamel paint. Dull cote spray helped lessen the glossy effect of some of the paints.](userimages/customs/6000/5985-1.jpg) Norville "Shaggy" Rogers Scooby Dooby bickbenedictNorville "Shaggy" Rogers - would rather eat a pizza pie than solve a mystery, but contributes to the group by mainly being Monster bait.

![[Velma Dinkley] Velma Dinkley - well-versed in superstition, myths and legend, Velma generally has the mystery solved before any one else.
I decided to use a DC Direct Smallville Lana Lang figure because the size was perfect and I wanted to keep some group cohesion by using two figures from the same line for Freddie and Velma and for Daphne and Shaggy. First, I removed the long hair from the figure and sculpted her hair with sculpey. I removed her cheerleader skirt and replaced it with a DST Buffybot skirt as well as replacing her feet with Buffybot's feet. I then sculpted her sweater and socks. Her glasses were taken from a McFarlane Austin Powers figure.
One big lesson I learned with this figure is that while paint adheres to hard plastic pretty well it doesn't to pliable rubber (the skirt). I let the skirt dry after I painted it but it came off everytime I touched the figure. Several coats of Testors flat lacquer spray helped with that problem.](userimages/customs/6000/5984-1.jpg) Velma Dinkley Scooby Dooby bickbenedictVelma Dinkley - well-versed in superstition, myths and legend, Velma generally has the mystery solved before any one else.

This version of the Black Knight Ghost is composed of a McFarlane Cogliostro body, a Spawn the Black Heart head with a Spawn the Black Knight helmet. The helmet was too large for the figure, so I cut out the face plate and head spikes and glued it to the head, filling in the rest of the helmet with sculpey.
