![[Urban Assault Wreckage] Wreckage was such a great figure from the first set of transformers toys from the 2007 movie that I decided to revisit him for a new custom for the release of revenge of the fallen. His original camo scheme left much to be desired, so I decided to keep the urban camo theme but improve on it. He also needed some mods and new weapons, so after many hours of effort here is urban assault wreckage! His chest has been modded with a stabilizer pin which helps drastically when posing his arms and keeping his transformation firm. The small machine gun on his back has also had a pin added so it now swivels in place and can be removed. Adding more firepower, I scratchbuilt a larger machine gun for his stryker mode that swivels as well, and can be removed and repositioned on his right shoulder when he transforms! The painting process is very involved and is covered better in my Battle Damage Guide. But briefly, Tony was base coated in Flat Black, sealed with Future, coated in Brilliant Silver, sealed, then airbrushed Metallic Red / Gold, sanded back to the Silver layer, then detailed in Mithril Silver and Flat Black. ![[Custom Iron Man Unleashed] The Unleashed version of Iron Man is really cool, but what's the only way to make it better? Battle damage! I used several new customizing techniques (not new to customizers but new for me) in order to give Iron Man the beating of his life! You can see where 'Ol Shellhead has taken several rounds from artillery and small arms and his armor looks ground down. I also repainted the base and repulsor blasts.

Iron Man was first basecoated in Chrome Aluminum then airbrushed Stop Light Red and Gold Leaf for the different sections. His name is Tracks and I'll never forget when I got him back when I was a kid. I played that guy to death, his doors came off and he lost an arm and wing. And it's not that I mistreated him either, I tried to take care of him, but he saw a lot of action.
Anyways, he was one of the first that came to mind when I considered what Gen 1 'bots to do in the movie style. I opted to kitbash a Concept Camaro Bumblebee with about 3 different Gundam kits and came out with my version of movie Tracks. His gun is made from scratch and has removable fire molding. He is still fully transformable and posable. His wings and shoulder missiles are removable for car mode. His base is made to look like a stretch of road with a textured surface. But the most proud feature I made for him is probably the custom created decal of his flame emblem using the movie style Autobot faction symbol.

![[Animated Venom] So I took a look at the new Animated Spider-man figures that just came out, particularly Venom because he's one of my favorite characters of all time. But although I thought the new style was interesting, he seemed anything but scary. After all, he had little stubs for teeth! Something needed to be done about this. I sculpted him a new set of deadly chompers, as well as enhancing his eyebrows to make him look more sinister, then I lengthened and sharpened his claws. And finally I decided to sculpt on his chest and back spider, instead of just painting it on, making it look like a bony protrusion. Having never watched the animated show, I had no clue why Venom was painted in a metallic blue, so I gave him the classic black and white treatment. Next I decided to give him a line of "web shot" that attaches to the back of his right hand and is made from craft wire and hot glue. Finally, he needed a nice base, something of an alley scene where he can throw down with that bothersom](userimages/customs/9000/8548-1.jpg) Animated Venom Spider-Manby crusader_xSo I took a look at the new Animated Spider-man figures that just came out, particularly Venom because he's one of my favorite characters of all time....4 comments | ![[Gray Movie Hulk] Since I thought the Movie Hulk toy was a pretty good figure I decided what the world needed was a Gray Movie Hulk! But why gray? Well the Hulk was originally gray when he was created. Also, the Ultimate version of Hulk is gray. And let's face it, he always looks cool in gray. And for some reason I always think of gray hulk in purple shorts, rather than blue. Either way, he was fun to paint.

Hulk was first airbrushed a basecoat of Euro I Gray. I then heavily drybrushed Gray over this, then lightly drybrushed Light Gray over that. This gave him 3 nice tones, but I wasn't finished. ![[Movie Abomination] Abomination was never a villain I really respected in the comics. He may have been big and mean but he had fish lips! So when I heard he was in the new Incredible Hulk movie I was skeptical. However, after seeing the movie I must say, the filmmakers did a really good job in the translation of this character. I decided to do my own take on the movie toy, opting for an almost alligatorish texture and color scheme for the skin, and downplaying the protruding bones the original toy had. In the end, I think this is a nice custom based on the movie character, but paying respect to the reptillian original.

His eye patch is sculpted on with FIXIT, as well as some of the pouches, and the patch strap is thin styrene. The head attaches by magent giving it great posability. The figure has ridiculous articulation, as many of the good Marvel Legends do... even his fingers are individually articulated! And finally, the S.H.I.E.L.D emblem on his chest and shoulders are custom designed decals in addition to all of the warning signs and symbols (and bullet holes) on the base.

![[Movie Incredible Hulk] With the new Incredible Hulk movie due out in June, it seemed like a good time to do a Hulk custom. The 6 inch Hulk from the movie line has good articulation and is a nice size to fit in with Marvel Legends so I knew I had to get him. He was actually fun to paint and didn't need any real improvement to the original mold. I opted to go with a more vivid green paint scheme than the one that the figure came with. This was my first time using an airbrush on a figure and since it turned out so well, laying down the paint so smooth, I will definately be focusing on doing more airbrushing on figures from here on out. I kept the original figure's eyes since they had nice detail and I didn't want to lose that.

![[Doctor Octopus Modern Version] Before the movie Spider-man 2, I was not that big of a fan of Dr. Octopus. That pot belly and bowl-cut were pretty unintimidating for a villain. Of course the movie version changed that, bringing him to life like I never imagined possible. Even his tentacles each got a personality! Anyways, this all led up to me wanting to do a pseudo-movie version by taking some elements of classic Doc Ock and streamlining them. I chose a TNA Sting as my base figure (which has ridiculous articulation) with the tentacles from a Spider-man Origins Dr. Octopus. I sculpted the harness on his chest with FIXIT and various fodder. His goggles are actually flat-head screws that are screwed into his skull and then the rest of the goggle is sculpted around it. The figure is a good size and fits in with Marvel Legends figures.
