So, for those of you who are collectors of the Mattycollector Ghostbusters line, and you have bought up more than one Peter Venkman for the proton streams and the gloves, you probably (like me) have tried to figure out a few things to do with your extra Venkmans.
Well, I decided to make a casual Pete without his proton pack on. First off, removing the Proton Pack was no easy task. They REALLY attach them things! Once I was able to remove it (a little hot water and some gentle prying, and I still couldn't avoid breaking the thing off), I had some excess plastic on his back that had to be removed. I used a Dremel cutting tool and a sanding tool to remove the left over straps and get his back flat, and then I used epoxy to fill in the holes that remained. After sanding down the epoxy to make it flush with the original mold, I used a wet sanding sponge to buff the epoxy and plastic down smooth.
Finding a color mix to match his flight suit was a bit tricky, but I think](userimages/customs/45000/44878-1.jpg) Ghostbusters Flight Suit Peter Venkman (No Proton Ghostbustersby ruredi2rocHey friends!

Therefore, I felt it crucial to customize a Masters of the Universe Movie style "Skeletor" as a follow-up to my custom Dolph Lundgren "He-Man".
This one was a bit more difficult to just get started. Unfortunately, there are no Frank Langella based figures out there (at least not that I'm aware of), so I had to go about a lengthy search for a figure comparable in size to my "He-Man" that could also be easily molded over. Eventually, I settled on a WWE "Kane" figure that was a perfect height, and his bald head would make it easy to custom mold the Skeletor head over top.
I started by sanding down much of Kane's facial features (removed the ears, cheeks, and double-chin). By using many, many stills from the movie, I then started a basic facial structure using epoxy. This was quite a tedious process, building a "skeletal" structure over a fleshed face. In the end,](userimages/customs/44500/44363-1.jpg) Masters of the Universe Movie Style "Skeletor |
![[Masters of the Universe Movie Style "He-Man&q] I've always wanted to make a "Masters of the Universe" Movie Style "He-Man" figure, but could never quite find the right base figure. I was thrilled when NECA released the "Drago" figure, which this time actually looked a bit like Dolph Lundgren. I've seen a few of these done already (kudos to those who had the creative eye for this as well), but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to make my own. So, here is what I did:
The figure base didn't require much except for new hands. Let me tell you, this was probably the HARDEST part of doing this project. I needed hands that could hold the sword and that were molded in the proper scale. In the end, the winning hands came from a NECA T-1000 steel mill figure.
I used a LOT of epoxy to build on this figure. The "Drago" hair was dremeled down and the new hair was sculpted completely from epoxy. The arm and leg bands...epoxy. I was also happy that I didn't have to alter the Hulk body in any way (because it's a bit of a hard to find item right now). The only extreme bit of alteration I had to do was drilling a larger hole in the bottom of the "Incredible Hulk's" head. Most of her hair is left the same, but I did crop a little off the back and used epoxy to clear the edging. ![[Spider-man 3 "Venom"] This is kind of a double submition. First, I've simply done a repaint as well as a few minor adjustments to the Spider-man 3 "Venom" figure. I decided after watching Spider-man 3 again the other day to make him a bit more movie-accurate. I dremeled down his tongue as, for some reason, you never really see it extended in the movie. I also painted the inside of his mouth as well as a few spaces in between the jaw tendons a deeper red. I then painted his teeth black and overcoated with a white (with slight yellow tint) dry brush paint. Of course, the spider on his chest and his eyes needed to be more white than the strange colors they were previously, and his fingernails ('er...claws) needed to be a light yellow. One other minor adjustment was that I shaped his feet to look more like feet (as they appeared in the film) rather than a nice pair of dress shoes.

I painted dark black around his eyes, creating lines down his cheeks to simulate the running make-up. I then painted the hair black, dry brushed over with a tan/blonde highlight, and finally streaked it with a light green. This helped give it a bit more of a "stringy" look. I mixed up a flat skin-toned base paint to match the neck. I painted his face up completely first (minus the eyes, of course). I then painted the mouth with red...yes, I painted the mouth FIRST. There is a reason for this. After the mouth is painted, I then apply a light, white coat of paint to the face. Apply lightly to the forehead as this will cause the flesh undercoat to come through the wrinkles in his brow. Also, I don't paint near the mouth yet. When everything else is painted, I apply a light, almost dry brush coat of paint a bit at a time to the area around the mouth. This way, there is not a stark contrast between the red and the white.
