![[Foot Soldier (Cartoon Version)] Customized the original 1988 Foot Soldier figure to match the original 1987 cartoon appearance a little better. While it was already almost 100% accurate physically, there were still a few things that differed, specifically the armor. I originally was just going to simply repaint the figure and call it done, in fact I had already done that, then I looked at it and searched for ways to change it up a bit more. Trimmed down the original armor to a slightly shorter length then glued it back onto the figure and added a third strap onto each arm inbetween the 2 existing ones, since on the cartoon they usually have 3 straps on each arm. Then sculpted over the original armor to make it look closer to how it appears on the show. I also changed some of the clothing by straigthening out a few areas and making it look neater such as the hood area, the area right under the belt, and the sleeves near the hands. Then of course repainted the entire figure. I definitely plan to make more of this exact](userimages/customs/49000/48828-1.jpg) Foot Soldier (Cartoon Version) | ![[April O'neil (Cartoon Version)] April O'Neil based on her original '87 TMNT Cartoon appearance. Used Toon April as the base, the one that originally came with the channel 6 News Van and was wearing a green outfit. Unfortunately I do not have the Channel 6 News Van to go with it. This figure was the same body sculpt as the 2 previous basic April figures, but like Toon Shredder, was cast in some kind of different plastic that was different from the original releases, it looked a little bit thicker and more durable that's why I decided to go with the '93 Toon April as the base. Sculpted on some additional details seen in the cartoon and repainted the entire figure.](userimages/customs/48000/47889-1.jpg) April O'neil (Cartoon Version) |
![[Splinter (Cartoon Version)] Finally got around to making a new custom Splinter, based on the original cartoon. Used 1988 Splinter as the base, replaced the tail with that of 2k3 Splinter and also the hands were replaced with 2k3 Splinter hands. The ears and others parts of the figure including the Kimono (suit) were sculpted on. The whiskers were made with a very thin wire. The figure retains all of it's original articulation. I was originally gonna use the same ears from the figure and reposition them higher on the head, but I decided to sculpt all new ears since I had to add a little on the head anyway. And I'm still not sure if the ears are too large or pointy. Might replace the whiskers with thinner ones later on I'm not sure if they look took thick. Cane is from a Movie Star Splinter with the wraps cut off and just painted over. Usually after painting a custom figure and calling it done I later notice things that need to be fixed, like gaps to fill in, things that need to be evened out, paint work or sculpt](userimages/customs/47000/46902-1.jpg) Splinter (Cartoon Version) | ![[2012 Classic TMNT] The new 2012 Classic TMNT Raphael, Michaelangelo, Leonardo, Donatello, an attempt to make them match the cartoon better. ![[Shredder (Cartoon Version)] My recent custom TMNT needed a Shredder to battle with, I've been slowly working on this for roughly a month and a half, finally finished today. I actually used the Toon Shredder release, I could have just used the original '88 Shredder release since they are basically the same figure, but the only reason I chose to use Toon Shredder is the arms/hands/fingers are bulkier, they used some kind of different plastic that makes Shredder look buffer, and even the shoulders appear to be wider, anyone else ever notice this? I used "Aves Apoxie Sculpt" to sculpt a new shirt and belt onto the figure, and also to modify the helmet/mask. The flaps hanging down under the belt and the cape are made of "Kneadatite Green Stuff". Cape is permanently attached, and the advantage of the cape is that it helps prevent the figure from falling, the '88 Shredder/Toon Shredder were always really hard to balance and would easily fall over, but the cape provides more support so that it won't f](userimages/customs/42500/42077-1.jpg) Shredder (Cartoon Version) | ![[Raphael (Cartoon Version)] Used original 1988 Raphael figure and customized it to look like his appearance in the original 1987 cartoon. ![[Shredder] The entire figure was made using simply the original 1988 Shredder action figure from Playmates. I did not add any height to the figure, I simply un-crouched him, as he was previously crouched down pretty low, but I made his legs stretch out completely straight. Cut into the bent legs to stretch them out into a straight position and glue them in place with some plastic supporting it on the back, and going over it with Milliput standard yellow-gray, and took the same approach on the right arm, left arm was left un-altered. Moved the leg armor up to the forearms and tweaked the armor a bit. The shoulder pads are the same ones but using 2 on each side glued together and with some more tweaks. New leg armor is from Super Shredder, with the appropriate spikes cut out. Forearm straps and leg straps made from Milliput. The helmet/mouthpiece was carved down and re-done with Milliput sculpt.
