![[Wolverine (Brown)] "I'm the best at what I do!" - Wolverine
So this one has been a long time a'comin'. I always wanted a brown Wolverine as it is my favorite look for the character. Ever since I played the 80's X-Men arcade I wanted a brown Wolverine to call my own. The Marvel Legends one was decent but I had a very specific look in mind. Everything from the mask (and Logan), height, claw length, and shape of the boots and belt had to be perfect. Ever since I got onto figure realm and started reading the tutorials on how to disassemble and reassemble, paint and add metal claws to a Wolvie, I knew that one day I would make my own. And here he is!
I took apart the (very rare and expensive) ML Series 6 Wolverine, resculpted the boots, added some DCUC hands with custom metal claws, and TB X-Men Wolverine heads, painted and put back together to get the guy to look just right. I also added a DCUC Batman belt with capsules removed and added some sculpt to the buckle. This was a simple resculpt and a repaint. I liked the one Lesternessman made and since I had an extra Wonder Woman lying around I thought, why not. To never again walk on a summer's day with the hot wind in your face and a warm hand to hold. Oh yes, I'd kill for that!" - Mr. Freeze
This Evil Denizen of Gotham was created using DCUC Captain Cold. I wanted to make a more articulated Mr. Freeze and also one that reflected my idea of what he should look like. We keep on getting that roid monkey from mattel and Mr. Freeze is more tragic and a psychological threat to Batman. I used the DCD Freeze and hollowed it to attach to Captain Cold. I made a cast of DCUC Lex Luthor and sculpted the goggles. I also added a little height to him, paint and there you go, DCUC Mr. Freeze.](userimages/customs/37000/36893-1.jpg) DCUC Mr. Freeze DC Universeby eldraxo"Think of it, Batman. ![[The Dark Knight Rises MM Bane] "Your punishment must be more...severe." -Bane
With The Dark Knight Rises just around the corner I couldn't resist taking a crack at the main villain of the film. Played by Tom Hardy, Bane is one of Batman's deadliest foes. He is as much a physical threat as he is a psychological one. I have no doubts that that is exactly what Chris Nolan will deliver come this July.
Bane started as a Miles Quaritch figure, an idea borrowed from Chester 001 and Matthancock. I just went to town on the sculpting, all done in Aves Fixit and some pieces of plastic. The head was a Conan head (I liked the anger in his face and his eyes), heavily retooled and sculpted. I used Model Masters Acrylics and there you go, Bane.

This is my interpretation of a golden age Joker based on Conrad Veidt's appearance in the 1928 silent film "The Man Who Laughs" It has been reported that Gwynplaine's appearance was one of the inspirations for the look of the character in the comics. I can certainly see why and was always curious to see what that would look like. I was also inspired by the bust created by Peter Murphy. Its an awesome, scary piece for sure. This is by far one of my favorites and scariest pieces.
It started as a Heath Ledger Joker mod. I wanted to give him a smile. But as I started working on him I got bored and decided to do something fresh. Then I noticed that Heath had some of the same facial features as Conrad Veidt (namely the hook nose and forehead) so I went with it. Several days of sculpting and a paint job later and this guy is ready to put a grim smile on anyone's face.](userimages/customs/32500/32384-1.jpg) Golden Age Joker Batmanby eldraxo"A man smiles a smile without mirth - rather a smile of death, the awesome ghastly grin of - THE JOKER!"

![[Black Costume (Symbiote) Spider-Man] This guy was my second custom ever and I took what I had learned from my first (the Joker) and applied what I had learned. The sculpting was still done with a regular razor blade and a safety pin. I shaved off the legs of the spider symbol (both front and back) and then re-sculpted the legs as they are in the movie black spider-man. This was the majority of the work. I took old spidey completely apart and then painted him with Testors flat black but I rubbed him on a piece of fabric to give him a semi-shiny look. The webbing was painted with paint that was a mix of black, white (neutral gray) and silver. I put him back together and there you go Black Costume Spider-Man as he appeared in the film. ![[DCUC Batman Year One] "He will become the greatest crime fighter the world has ever know, he will come to be known as the Batman!"
This guy was a long time coming. It is based on my personal favorite Batman book of all time, Frank Miller's Batman Year One. Everything from the length of the horns to the shape of his gauntlets and the shape of the cape are all based on Dave Mazzucheli's beautiful art work. All the sculpting was done with fixit, the trickiest thing was the belt. It is the belt of the Dcuc batman with the pouches off the DCSH batman (the construction workers belt). I cut out all the pouches and then glued them on (trust me trickier than it sounds). Painted it w/ Testors paints a bit of Dullcoate and voila, a Batman Year One figure.

This is definitely one of my new favorites, The Joker in the Cop Uniform. A lot of work went into this guy, and many thanks to N TT, Awakeman and Passion Designs for the ideas. I also used a Hot Toys as a starting point. The head is a recast of the original Joker head. The hair was sanded down and then resculpted. The coat was made from a DCUC Riddler jacket, I used it because it seem a better fit and looked more like the one he used in the film. The pockets and details (medals, ribbons, etc.) are made from Fixit, removed and then superglued back on. The rifle came from a Medal of Honor Figure, it is an M1-garand, exactly the kind used the Dark Knight.

I made him way before The Dark Knight came out (almost a year before). The promotional pictures had just come out and I thought "WOW the Joker looks sick!" It looks amaturish to me now, but at the time I thought "Man, this toy is awesome."
It doesn't compare to my stuff now but it taught me a lot about the tools, techniques, and the bases I should use. I used one razor blade to shave and sculpt the entire thing (Thank God for Dremel Drills!) I ordered some fixit (still have the same two tubs) and I used glossy paints and some enamels I think. I also tried making a coat out of fabric (way in over my head), the mask is Sculpey and it's Christian Bale as The Joker! Live and learn.

This was a complete overhaul of my previous Bank Joker. Did a recast of the Bank Joker head I did with the last one and then I hollowed it out to make it a removable mask. That was a lot tougher than I thought. The Joker was also a recast and then I dremeled off all the hair and then sculpted some new hair with Fixit. The mask fits perfectly snug on his head.
